Bama fans love to ignore the sports they suck at and only discuss the sports they are good at, which pretty much means the only sports they will openly discuss without diverting attention to another sport are:
1) Football;
2) Women's softball;
You can pretty much guarantee that any time you try to discuss another sport with them, they will divert discussion to one of the two sports mentioned above.
Case in point: actual conversation on Twitter yesterday between me and two of Bama’s biggest fans: LINK

My thread was clearly about the rising softball ratings.

There - I made your post more accurate.

Your example of Alabama fans not wanting to talk about other sports is the guy who helped start the basketball student section and a guy who runs the baseball student section?
Weird example

I'd take both. But we don't always get what we want. LSU fans should be well aware of that.

Incorrect. Would be nice to be good in both of these secondary sports.

This is golden considering most Auburn fans had to be reminded that their baseball team made it to Omaha and their love for softball vanished in a matter of months.

I mean Auburn folks LOVED softball for like 18 months.

Would rather have both but there is a difference: College softball has the best players in the country playing. College baseball simply does not and it is painfully hard watching some of these games - and I’ve tried. I mean watch a college game compared to a minor league game - if one takes away the aluminum bats - it is not even close.
I understand team spirit and all, and I get cheering for your team, but I just can’t get into bad baseball. Actually, even the pros are hard to watch until the playoffs - I’d rather just watch the highlights on ESPN for now.

I'd rather be good in both. However, I will watch neither no matter how good they are.
