I think y'all are gonna be much better-served by Venables than you would have been by Riley.

Good hire if true.

I agree. We've needed to purge all of these texas tech pussy coaches and their pussy culture from our staff for many years and USC is doing it for us.

Good luck, condoms.

B. Kelly consistently gets great talent even working within the restrictions of ND and consistently fields a great team, a good portion of his guys are not big names you hear out of high school but continue to produce

Kelly is a good coach, he wasn’t an elite recruiter tho. Venables is is known as one of the top recruiters in CFB. That’s all I was saying.

Well... the last time we hired a successful defensive coordinator as coach, it didn't work out too badly at all. So I guess we'll see.....
Are you referring to Big Game Bob? LOL.

Aren't there some rumors swirling that he's bringing some personal baggage with him? On top of possibly ethical and recruiting violations?

I'll admit, I wouldn't mind seeing him take Southern Cal down with him in a spectacular fireball.

I've seen the rumor about a possible infidelity and it seems like nonsense to me. No recruiting baggage either.

The BIG XII had caught up to Riley. It showed all year this season and started to show 3 seasons ago if I'm being honest. 2/3rds of the defenses in this league had cracked "the powerzful Riley offense" code and he ended up struggling in every single game regardless of the quality of the opponent we faced each week. Things were going to get worse for him, and us, so the USC offer was timely and a blessing in disguise.

I suspect the DCs in the PAC conference know how to watch film as well as BIG XII DCs, and Riley's struggles will follow him no matter which conference he runs away too when the jig is up on his over-hyped image.

Problem with OU is that the only players they can truly recruit are pussies from Tejas. And they only get the pussies that are just a little less pussy than the pussies that go to Yexas.

Venebles doesn't really seem like a college head coach, similar to Jeff Scott and Chad MOrris.

It's Venables.

And what does a college HC typically "seem like"?

Either way, probably a pretty exciting time to be a Sooner. While there may be some uncertainty, it's also a chance to break the mold and start clean with a newly-forged identity.

As an onlooker, I'm really curious to see how y'all fare.

To a Clemson fan?

Venables doesn’t coach pussies. That narrative died with Riley leaving. OU will be physical always. Also OU recruits everywhere. Tons of Cali guys even before Riley, also SC and NC, and venables recruits all over the south. Not saying he’s the next saban but it’s a change OU needed.

The coach's ears have to have sufficient surface area to generate lift when he flaps them.

Exactly. It's a purge and an opportunity for a total reset of how Oklahoma goes about football entirely and I'm thrilled about that. Long overdue.

There are always risks and uncertainty, but as the Romans used to say: "Fortune favors the bold"

Yep. I think OU will be just fine.

Venables gonna bring southern players to Norman? Hahahahahaha

That's why he'll have to coach Tejas pussies. No real college players want to play in Normon.
Baker and Kyler were both transfers. So again just a little less pussy than the pussies at Tejas.

What a nightmare situation. Transitioning from BIG XII football to SEC football, with an unproven head coach.

It's gonna he a looooong decade or 2 for the Sooners. Prepare for lots and lots of Music City Bowls and trips to Shreveport.

I don’t know too much about this Venables feller other than him being mentioned as a HC candidate in past seasons (and not so much now with Clemson being on a downward trajectory) but I seriously doubt he has OU in the playoffs the next few seasons—that would be an awfully tall order.

Huh!?!? You're giving BK way too much credit as a recruiter. The Notre Dame name alone recruits itself. Any decent coach showing an ounce of effort will always get recruits at holy mother Notre Dame.
