Well, the truth is that there still isn't a formal NCAA investigation, so that part is accurate. Not sure I've seen masses of LSU fans saying the NCAA wasn't involved at all when it's clear since last Friday they have been assisting LSU with its investigation of Smart.

NCAA never formally announces anything about ongoing investigations.
Doesn't really matter though because LSU compliance always gives the NCAA the bat signal while jumping right into their own investigation.

It’s pretty clear what’s happening now
LSU has managed to escape any possible vacating of wins. That’s 100% clear
Now, with a full squad, we likely make a final four run
Wade likely won’t have to testify in the April trial. Wade will also be let off the hook. He will come back to LSU after LSU fires alleva
Going forward, LSU has an sec title, a final four season, will wade, and no Alleva

Per press releases, Smart has cooperated with the investigation to date, however, THE INVESTIGATION IS NOT CLOSEDwith Smart.
So, yes, he was cleared to play by the LSU AD, but it is a risky move in lieu of the facts still to come of the investigation. Especially when they talk to his guardian and
"handlers" involved. I'm sure they are getting coached very well at this point on where to hide things, and what to say.
