You should visit Franklin, TN. Williamson county is the 10th most affluent county in the country. Ranks #1 for size of signs family homes. (Number of rooms). Hoover looks ghetto in comparison.

Insecurity is a feeling of inadequacy (not being good enough) and uncertainty.

You need to move if this is not common for you.

Hoover is suffering since the deterioration of the Galleria and Patton Creek. Homewood and Mountain Brook are much nicer.

Literally one of the nicest areas in the country. It's funny as I was about to respond to the OP that Mountain Brook says hello.

Patton Creek and the Galleria are doing just fine.
Immigrating liberals are th biggest threat to Hoover, but we just elected our most conservative City Council in the 15 or so years I've lived here and their first school board appointment was an anti-mask anti-school closures proponent, so we're heading in the right direction there. This council will be able to appoint 4 more school board members before their term ends.
As long as we continue to hold back the spread of leftism, Hoover will be just fine.

Based on moves toward CRT that their school board recently had to walk back, I would say they are headed in the wrong direction.

All of the Bham area is, if we're being honest.
That said, the Mountain Brook community has long been one of the nicest and most affluent in the South.

True enough, but those affluent residents will leave if their school board keeps making decisions like that. And when the school system deteriorates, so does the rest of the town. I hope this recent dust up with the school board woke up Mountain Brook's residents to the reality that they are not immune to this.
ETA: I would say Hoover's most recent municipal elections shows that City to be headed in the right direction, though it would not take much to reverse that course.

You are overstating what the school board did. There was never any move
towards critical race theory and they quickly moved away from the ADL framework.

How you even get there. I'm just supporting my position with objective statistics. If Hoover is nice than other areas more affluent are certainly going to be equally if not substantially nicer. There are some really nice areas in the south. Buckhead, Germantown, etc.

Leftism will be triumphant before the fall. All forms of bureaucracy are susceptible to leftism.

All of this is wrong. They made the decision to partner with the ADL and were moving full steam ahead with it, totally blindsiding parents. They did not "quickly move away from the ADL framework" and are in fact still using it. They had almost completely implemented it before "separating" from the ADL and are still moving forward with the same framework without the ADL's training or involvement.
That means very little though, because 500 employees have already gone through the ADL training and they will surely be using those employees to implement the ADL's program in the school system. They even kept ADL's name for the program ("No Place For Hate"). They "removed the ADL" but kept literally everything the ADL had already done and are still moving forward with the ADL's program. If you live in Mountain Brook, I shouldn't know more about this than you do. And you should be very concerned about what's happening to your school system.

Close to 500 MBS employees have already completed anti-bias training through the Anti-Defamation League. Before the start of the 2021-2022 school year, all employees are required to complete the training.
"The anti-bias training is really about the lens through which you see the world that has been formed by your upbringing, experiences, and communities you've lived in," Hood said. "It really pushes you to stand back and reflect on how those things have shaped your opinions, thoughts, and lens."
Principals and school-based diversity committee leaders are also completing leadership training through the Anti-Defamation League and are preparing to implement the ADL's No Place for Hate program on their campuses next school year. The No Place for Hate program equips schools to build learning communities of inclusivity, respect, and equity.
"Local school diversity committees will establish a minimum of three genuine, authentic, interactive experiences that will occur in their schools to start important conversations and enhance culture," Hood said.

In Hoover schools? I'm not seeing it yet. I was far more concerned before our previous Superintendent resigned and they hired an absolute home run who is pretty clearly conservative. There is always the concern of leftism creeping in, but we seem to have held it off for now.
