Hardest college to get into in Mississippi
LINK
Mississippi: Mississippi Valley State University
Act 15-19
If this is true, does ole miss and state just take anyone with a ged?

State law mandates all universities have the same entrance requirements.
But yeah it sucks because tools from Texas that can’t get into UT and don’t want to waste their college experience at A&M flood into Ole Miss.
ETA: Good and bad: we get a lot of good out of state students by being the “fallback school of the southeast” but we also get a lot of tools by being the “fallback school of the southeast”.

Grew up in Memphis... when I was in my senior year of high school and looking at colleges, my college selection adviser would not even let me look at Ole Miss. In her words, I "actually had a brain that I could harness, which would not happen at Ole Miss."

You graduate these idiots and they become law makers in your state therefore there is an infinite loop of stupidity

It sets the mandatory minimum, does OM or State accept these people if they have already accepted enough of the more qualified applicants?

Unless you give us a scanned degree, I’m going to assume you went to Tennessee

I know people that work in admissions and they say the low entrance requirement can be a good thing for some people. There are some really poor areas in Mississippi (obviously) and have basically zero foundation of school when they get there, but flourish the second they have structure and help. Go on to do well and are highly successful. It’s give and take. These kids get in and so do the dumbass rich kids that you read about putting a noose around the neck of the James merideth statue on campus (was an out of state kid from Virginia).

Maybe so, but at least we don't have a bunch of gay dudes running around with Lassie on the sidelines.........

Whoa whoa whoa, let’s hold off on making fun of Ole Miss. If their academic standards weren’t so low, they wouldn’t have all the beautiful women.
Seems like a fair trade.

This is also a great (probably the best) plus

Pfft.. UAH: The 25th percentile New SAT score is 1130, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1410.
Bama's admission rate is much lower 51% because everyone and their meemaw whether truly qualified or not tried to apply, while UAH 81% because the area is saturated with tech, biz, engineering parents with those offspring who almost always stay closer to home... Which is why the school is highly a commuter.
