Didn't 2001 Miami have 13 first round picks on its roster alone?

Which is why Miami edges LSU out for most players in NFL. (I think it's 42-39)

Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin get my vote for the best one-two punch of the last decade.

I don't have the energy to do every position but I'll list some of the obvious players for UGA. Btw, we're talking about college badasses right? I'm assuming since you listed Russell, so we're not taking NFL into account here.

QB-Stafford, Shockley, Greene
RB-Knowshon, Musa Smith, Gurley
TE-Randy McMichael, Leonard Pope, Orson Charles
OT-Jon Stinchcomb
OG-Max Jean-Gilles
WR-AJ Green, Terrence Edwards, Fred Gibson, Reggie Brown

DT- Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud, Jonathan Sullivan
DE- David Pollack, Marcus Howard
OLB- Jarvis Jones
MLB- Boss Bailey, Odell Thurman, Rennie Curran

CB- Tim Wansley, Tim Jennings, Demario Minter
S- Sean Jones, Thomas Davis, Greg Blue, Rambo

K- Billy Bennett, Walsh
P- Drew Butler

PR- Damien Gary, Mikey Henderson
KR- Thomas Brown, Brandon Boykin

Like I said I left a lot of people off and didnt' try to make a comprehensive list, just jotting down people who would make the list for sure (IMO, at least).

but UGA has better position groups than LSU at several positions

Most definitely. LSU has been weak at LB and OL since 2000.

But we are strong at every other position. Our RBs aren't superstars, but they are all solid.

Homer post. Move this to Tiger Rant.

Yeahhhh, because LSU isn't the top SEC team in number of current NFL players or anything.

Retard.

Exactly. Which is why this list isn't impressive.

What? It's only the best school talent wise in the SEC since 2000. The winningest school since 2000.

You dumbass. You wouldn't know an NFL roster though, since you're an aggie.

Yeah Florida, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama could all put together teams that were at least close in talent to the one you listed.

Off the top of my head really quick:

QB-Cam
QB-Campbell
RB-Carnell
RB-Ronnie Brown
WR-Obamanu
WR-Aromoshodu
WR-Courtney Taylor
OT-Marcus Mcneil
OT-King Dunlap
OG-Ben Grubbs
OG-Mike Berry
C-Ryan Pugh

If I get a chance I'll do a list for defense too. Again, this is off the top of my head, so it's probably not the best in every selection.

That list has 13 1st rd draft picks in it and is littered with guys drafted in the top 5 rounds.

LULZ

Bama has just as many in the past 4 years alone.

2010 draft: 2
2011: draft: 4
2012 draft: 4
2013 draft: projected at least 3, probably 4

Total of at least 13.

I understand he wasn't a 4 year workhorse. He didn't play in 99 as a FR, got hurt during his sophomore year, played behind a senior in 01, and was finally a full time starter in 02 as a senior and he put up very good numbers. I'm not claiming he's the best in the SEC by any means, but if we're talking best 2-3 RBs for UGA since 2000 he'd make it, for lack of better options if nothing else.

He is having a good year, but a little premature, no?

Georgia or Tennessee is definitely 2nd on this list for sure behind LSU. I think they are the closest in current NFL players behind LSU. The big difference I notice is that LSU has more players total in the NFL, but UGA/TENN both have more "stars"

Why does LSU, UGA, and Tenn have more current NFL players than UF does then?

It's like I told the other poster, he kinda goes there by default. I mean Knowshon is the clear cut best since 2000, then who? Musa had a great year, but Gurley as a freshman is likely going to surpass his numbers this year. That leaves Thomas Brown and Kregg Lumpkin basically to choose from.

Oh, I see, then let me include the projected 1st round picks for LSU this year then.

Bama still isn't even close to LSU in number of current NFL players.
