Should the SEC reevaluate the SECCG?

Should the SEC call it the SEC Provisional Championship game? If an SEC team makes the CFP and eliminates the Provisional SEC Champ, then the CFP winner is also retroactively named SEC Champion.

We know. You're going to claim the SEC Championship too. This is a very minor claim for Alabama Standards

Come on dude. You were born in 1969. Don’t you have better things to do at 3:00 am?

We need to eleminate the game. Go to an 8 team playoff. That is what happened this year, but Bama got a bye.

And you want to move to the East because you think you might win there.

Alabama has made the SEC Title game a novelty.

To be fair if we had been in the east this year we'd have won it.

The SEC should reevaluate the whole conference and go back to 10 teams. Then play 9 conference games (no divisions), and have the top 2 teams in the standings play in the SECCG.

We can assume, at least provisionally, that possess no brain.

They wouldn't lose to LSU because they would never have played due to Auburn being complacent in their safe space. Thus even if they lose the IB, they still win the East.

There’s no way they would have gotten past Tennessee or Vandy though

Eliminate divisions and nix all the expansion teams. 9 conference games and 2 OOC games. All teams play each other every year, schedule is rebalanced every season (meaning you never play the same team at the same time twice in two years) with home/away maintained, and the top two teams play in the conference championship. 8 such conferences, 8 champions, 8 playoff teams.

It’s the Alabama way. Paraphrasing the great Buhr: If the local laundromat claims it, run with it. And if cow college beats you, throw hissy fits and whine like little school girls.

Only get rid of it (or one cupcake game for all SEC teams) if we go to 8 team playoffs.
Otherwise, it now means just above a conference tourney win in basketball.

quote:Absolutely support this. At the start of the season should also just place Alabama in the #4 CFP position and then let them play upwards throughout the year.

Should really just go to best overall division record as the first tie breaker. Head to head as second. Was Auburn truly the best in the SEC West because they beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl? Who had the better overall division record?

Have a gander at the preseason rankings for 2018. #4 is a big drop
