And it has nothing to do with being in Omaha. I’m sure the city is fine and there’s great tradition and memories there. It just seems that College Baseball is a bigger deal on the east coast and southeast with some outliers in other parts of the country.

Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Charlotte, Nashville, Orlando all seem to be great spots. Weather is just as good there as Omaha.

Again, I’m not trying to ruin tradition or anything. Just a thought. College Baseball is more exciting in the Southeast especially. Every program should strive for the excitement that the programs in the Southeast have.

And this has nothing to do with OU constantly sucking in baseball. With 10 CWS appearances and two national titles in 1951 and 1994, one would think baseball would be taken more seriously here, but no.

This is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard. Say you're joking.

Just saying this doesn’t make it true

College Baseball is still a big deal out West. Omaha is a good central location.

Suggesting to move from a tremendous/historic CWS site and surrounding area completely established to promote and support the event, while also implying he has never been to Omaha...

You won’t be able to recreate the energy that town brings anywhere else. Sure the 8 canvases travel, but the locals go to and pick rooting interests.

a better case can be made that the WCWS should be moved away from being a home tournament for Oklahoma.

I'd be for it jumping to another city like once every 5 years...just to mix it up and give others an opportunity to see a great event.

I’ve lived in Miami and Tampa and I avoid them today at all cost. I’ve driven, and changed planes in Atlanta and Charlotte and hope to never have to do it again (except for ATL when we win the SEC). Those places suck.

Can it? WCWS in OKC is a huuuggee deal around here. They also just expanded the stadium to hold 12,000. I'd love to hear the other viable softball options you have in mind.

That’s a novel idea to have it bounce around locations every so often. I’d be fine with the Women’s College World Series doing the same thing.

And to the others in the thread; having locations change for a championship event happens in sports - CFP, Final Four, Tennis, Golf, etc.

Omaha is not as good now that it’s a boring corporate stadium. But just the name “Omaha” still has a great connotation with all fans and players.

The new stadium is pretty bland, but Omaha itself is a great location for the CWS. I love that city (in the warm months).

It would too difficult to figure out a proper analogy of Ole Miss At Home Again for a different city.

If you're going to rotate it ...your idea of Atlanta, Charlotte, Tampa, etc. May as well make it the SEC /ACC tournament.
