Should players that enter the transfer portal be mandated to sit out one year?

I think that if a player graduates from their original school early then they should be able to play immediately once they transfer. Others not so much.

Two graduate players have led their teams to the playoffs, but would have sat the bench somewhere else

Do coaches have to sit out a year when they decide to leave, under contract?

No. All the portal has done is publicize things that were already happening.

You can't compare these two. One would have massive ramifications on the sport.

They need to do one or the other. Letting some do so and making others sit a year is bullshite

There should not have to be any time a student-athlete should sit, as long as the new team is abiding by the scholarship count.

Penalizing a kid for trying to better himself is simply, juvenile.
