How bout at the end of the regular season and transfer to a team in the CFB playoffs?

If not,why not?

And I'm obviously talking within a conference.

The following conditions should allow for no-nonsense immediate eligibility:

-Player is transferring in a situation where it is clear they have very little chance of getting play time to a program that will give them significant play time (program accepting transfer must actually play student athlete the next season at 50% - barring injuries. Failure to demonstrate need for immediate eligibility will result in the sit out being reinforced next season.

-There have been documented/reported incident(s) of a toxic environment to include racial insensitivity, unlawful activity, etc

-Player has a compelling academic reason to transfer

A note on the first point, a QB upset that there is a competition would not count because there is a chance that they will see playtime if they win out.
Immediate eligibility should exist for players that have already lost starting jobs and have very little prospects to see significant play. Once again, the school accepting the transfer should be forced to start said athlete to maintain the immediate eligibility.

No. We (SEC) cheat enough. Allowing those kind of transfers would bring on a whole new dynamic with player tampering. I'm cool with cheating to a point but imo player tampering shouldn't be broached.

Looks like you're describing a 3 letter movement currently happening but with hypocritical rules.

You do know this is gonna be the next argument when it comes to transferring...I'm just getting it out there before it happens.

Each and every player’s situation
Is different . But if you allow students to
Transfer mid year or before playoffs then it’s
Truly a bidding war for talent

Rules are made to be broken.
Everyone gets a 1 time transfer, and then it becomes mid/post season for the transfer.

Everyone gets 1 mid season transfer, and the exception now becomes a 2nd transfer.

At some point, the voted/agreed upon rules need to be the rules.

#1 if you have graduated from the university you attend, you can transfer with immediate eligibility anywhere. Of course the school you transfer to would have to recognize the 25 man signing limit.

#2 I think they need to have some deadlines for the transfer portal. If you want to transfer you must wait until the completion of the sport season. For example, football would have a transfer window from end of the season to end of May which would allow you to transfer in for a spring semester or the summer semester. They need to keep it to where it would impact your 25 man signing class as well.

If you signed 25 for the recent class you could not admit a transfer. If you signed 24, you could have one transfer. etc. That player would be eligible immediately on a one time basis.
If that player wanted to transfer again he would have to sit out a year.

Georgia has had so many high profile transfers lately that it's hard to know who it's about.

Not talking about anyone.It seems
many folks on here all of sudden want the transfer rules to change
now.Why not take it to the next level and just do away with transfer rules all together? Why even have them ?

This will be the next argument and I'm assuming you'll be all for it.

Just go full free agency. If all we need is a QB and WR to make a championship run, pluck them out of the MSU/ARK/etc of the world whenever we want.

Top schools won’t suffer like smaller ones.

Not really.

Most aren't happy with their playing time ...its pretty simple
