You want to fire a coach in the year he wins seven games and goes to a bowl game? You haven't been a State fan for very long have you?

Been a State fan all of my life.

If he goes 0-3 vs Ole Miss, absolutely

Mike Leach has a $12,000,000 buyout and y'all just gave him a contract extension a few months ago.

Relative. No one really cares outside Mississippi and State can do worse than Leach, likely even. Be stable, maybe kiff leaves.

Leach isn’t bad by any means. He should have State consistently bowling. But that’s pretty much the ceiling. He doesn’t usually do well against teams that are just better. And I think he will struggle with the Egg Bowl as long as Lane is at Ole Miss.

Mike is a great coach. You don’t deserve him. You wanting him to go has nothing to do with him and everything to do with how well Lane is doing in Oxford.

In most other jobs anywhere in the SEC where there is a problem coaches fix it. Leach has a track record of not fixing it just saying screw it this is my system i'm sticking to it.

But you won. Sometimes it's not a good idea to fix things that aren't broken. State has the fifth toughest schedule in the country this year. Firing Leach means you get to compete w/ Auburn, Wisconsin, Nebraska, etc for a head coach.

Who can State get that's better?

Miss St has to realize that their program will never reload and will rely on developing the scraps from other SEC teams. They have a chance to make runs whenever the big dogs in the SEC are in rebuilding years and they have to play spoiler on the recruiting front by going all-in on some prospects the big dogs want but are spread too thin.

So fans, boosters, and administration should just be ok with his unwillingness to make adjustments.

Leach has a style of offense. As others have said he isn’t going to change. If you stick with him you will contend for the west about once every 5-7 years but probably never win it.

You are Miss St and you have to remember that. Any coach you get will be his level, worse or someone that will be poached by a wealthier school.

There's even an issue where our 2 most talented WR's arent being put on the field at the same time b/c they play the same position and he wont adjust to get his best two play makers on the field (Tula Griffith and Rara Thomas)

THIS !!!

That is the biggest head scratcher. Nobody can cover those two and if we put them both on field at the same time it would open up a lot! One of life's great mysteries.

State,

Don’t start the revolving door of coaches. It will make you irrelevant for over a decade.

It’s not Leach’s fault, his players were dreaming about sipping lemonade under a shade tree with their fat little girlfriends.

I've always looked at Mike Leach as a more interesting and entertaining version of Mark Richt.

Damn man. Why do this? Who is Mississippi state going to hire? He’s a good coach. If leach was at A&M he’d have them winning 9-10 every year.
