I say yes. The honey badger is my favorite defensive player ever even though he didnt play for AU and he was a total game changer in a way that is almost never seen for a historically good defense that went undefeated to the mulligan bowl.

Lil badger fella had 76 tackles and 7.5 tackles in the backfield for a loss (which is absurd for a cornerback). Crazy bastard recovered or forced 11 fumbles and scores 2 TDs. Again what cornerback has ever taken the ball away from runners and recovered funbles that many times. Also had two interceptions, ran back 2 punts for 2 more touchdowns, ran for 451 yards, and was a gunner on punt coverage.

IMO that crazed honey badger thing was the best player in 2011. The shite he did you just dont ever see and he was all over the field changing games all the time.

Eta: fixed title

Nope. RG3 was beta, but Tyrann Mathieu was even more beta.

Yea he should have. The fact he finished last between the 5 finalists pissed me off even more.

Bama fans will be here shortly to tell you no because they completed 2 passes over his head in the NC game.

He missed the AU game that year due to a drug suspension. Spice violation if I remember right. The Heisman committee was never going to allow him to win over RGJesus

No it was 2 and led to some great UGA rants.

I can't stand RG3 and he was soft as hell, but I still think he deserved it over Badger.

You got beef with his one against UGA?

Fun fact about that game: We beat UGA by more points than our QB had yards passing

Quite simply yes. He understood the game in its simplest form. It’s about the football not strategy if I take the football from you enough, my team will win the game. He is one of very few to ever play the game that purely and simply. A joy to watch!

-I'm not diminishing TM's resume as a player, and he was proooobably the best overall football player in teh nation that year
-I've only seen a handful of dudes in my lifetime that absoutely altered games the TM did..and he did.
-The first half of the '11 SECCG we played out of our gourds, but we didn't have the horses to play a full 60 and of course we were playing the best team in LSU's history and the scoreboard reflected that. LSU was far and away the better team...by like a LONG way.

With all of that said, that 1 punt return was bullshite and should have been a touchback. He clearly threw the ball OOB before crossing the goal line.

typical LSU fan.

I went out of my way to give effusive praise to TM and LSU's 2011 season, acknowledging the arse beating you gave us and how terrific the team and player were.

But the one single play I took umbrage to you latch onto as if I slapped your grandma. LSU in a nutshell. Say anything less than praise and you're a bitch.
