I don’t think so. I think the committee got it right ranking Bama ahead of Georgia Southern, but I’m open to hearing opposing arguments.

quote:

Teams sorted by wins over currently-ranked CFP teams:

LSU: 4 (#5 Alabama, #11 Florida, #12 Auburn, #19 Texas)
Georgia: 2 (#11 Florida, #16 Notre Dame)
Ohio State: 2 (#14 Wisconsin, #17 Cincinnati)
Penn State: 2 (#15 Michigan, #20 Iowa)
Wisconsin: 2 (#15 Michigan, #20 Iowa)
Michigan: 2 (#16 Notre Dame, #20 Iowa)
Baylor: 2 (#22 Oklahoma St, #24 Kansas St)
Texas: 2 (#22 Oklahoma St, #24 Kansas St)
South Carolina: 1 (#4 Georgia)
Auburn: 1 (#6 Oregon)
Southern Cal: 1 (#7 Utah)
Minnesota: 1 (#9 Penn State)
Kansas State: 1 (#10 Oklahoma)
Florida: 1 (#12 Auburn)
Illinois: 1 (#14 Wisconsin)
Temple: 1 (#18 Memphis)
Oklahoma: 1 (#19 Texas)
TCU: 1 (#19 Texas)
BYU: 1 (#21 Boise State)
Texas Tech: 1 (#22 Oklahoma St)
Memphis: 1 (#23 Navy)
Oklahoma State: 1 (#24 Kansas St)
Georgia Southern: 1 (#25 Appalachian St)
*Alabama: 0

Since most Georgia Southern graduates are A1abama fans, I don't think we'd see any attempted murder coming out of it..

I’m not sure honestly. They both have a Quality loss from the same opponent. Yet Georgia southern does have a quality win, which A1abama doesn’t. Could go either way imo

It’s certainly a discussion worth having, for sure. I’d probably still give the nod to Bama over Georgia Southern, but I admit that it’s a close call and not an easy decision.

While I’m not 100% certain, I do believe Bama would beat Georgia Southern on a neutral field.

That gives them 2 quality losses and 1 quality win.

That's obviously better than 1 quality loss.

Georgia Southern > A1abama

You have to take Tua’s injury into account when comparing Bama and Georgia Southern though.

If Tua was 100%, Bama’s defense would play better in a hypothetical matchup against Georgia Southern.

I’m definitely interested to see what happens in the Bama-Georgia Southern bowl game. As I said above, I probably like Bama to win but nonetheless it should be a good game.

Yeah but you have to factor in Southern's QB being falsly arrested for cocaine which just turned out to be dried bird poop on his car.

Naw. #1 beat Georgia Southern 55-3.

The only question now is how Bama-Georgia Southern game would turn out. Again, I give Bama the edge in that game.
