Shot clock reset at end of LSU/Bama game

There was a block shot towards the end of this game that was blocked onto the backboard and the shot clock got reset. Was this a mistake or is this a rule in CBB? The ball didn't hit the rim but got reset to 20 secs. Instead of a shot clock violation a Bama player made a 3 to basically iced the game way. Is this rule different compared to the NBA?

So you're saying we would of won if not for the refs? I get it now.

Even if the clock didn't reset the 3 was made in enough time. There was still at least 3 seconds left.

No, but I think Bama was up by only 1 pt before he hit that 3. Not blaming anything on the refs, just asking a question on why the shot clock was resetted with the ball not having to hit the rim.

Resets to 20 on an offensive rebound. Shot clock operator must have believed it hit the rim.

I think it was early on in the shot clock anyways and didn't have an impact on the play.

Capture the timeline, billboard it, and hopefully action will be taken.

Reese shot the ball with 20 sec on the clock.

I just watched it, they did reset it for some reason but he started to shoot when it was at 4. It definitely shouldn't have been reset though.

What I'm saying is that the blocked shot was shot earlier in the shot clock then the made shot was shot shortly after that. So, if the shot clock hadn't been reset, it didn't look like the made 3 would have violated the original shot clock that you're talking about on the shot that was blocked.

Yea that's what I saw too. It was incorrectly reset but if the original had kept ticking the shot would have been off at around 2.

Unbelievable that the ball bounced that way though. Sometimes it's just your day.

Yea it was literally the equivalent of a perfect kick out pass.

This. The reset was wrong but didn’t matter. When the ball came off the backboard there were 6-7 seconds left. Reese picked it up and shot within a couple of seconds. Had they let it run like they should have, he still beat it.
