Beamer was handed a turd sandwich but seems to be doing pretty well at USC. I'm not declaring him the second coming of Bear Bryant but he's doing pretty good. And if it works... it works. It's worked for Muss and Muss hasn't had to rub his arse on a player while stripper music plays.
Beamer has to go out there a bit more because the last few coaches for USC burned fan support to the ground and pissed on the ashes. You can either go the "I'm a surly bastard and if the fans hate the program they hate the program" or you can try to get them behind the program again.

50+ year old white millionaire head coaches doing anything to try and relate with modern hip hop culture to seem cool to 17 year old black kids will always be cringe. Just be yourself and be a leader to young men.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work today.
You have to yuck it up with the recruits and players, at least a little bit or you're seen as boring.
