Facilities are run down and they had to settle for playing basketball for the next 25 years in someone else’s facility

Wow, no one I’ve ever met fabricates their own delusions and presents them as facts the way you do

Well that's the issue isn't it. They've done so much better on the field and their AD still makes way less money... you know... the sole driver behind expansion.

Again, you're entirely missing the point of what I said. Every time conference expansion threads come up there's always X amount of people who say Clemson should come in. I'm telling you even with all their football success they still don't make as much money as us and so it would make 0 sense to bring them in. The SC market isn't that large... we have enough of it to where adding Clemson won't make up for having to split with additional teams.
Also, we receive about $10 million more than Clemson from does our respective conference payouts.

To the Longhorn fan,
1. You have the greatest revenue due to being the flagship in the largest state that actually cares about football (i.e not CA).
2. The fact that you are posting on an exclusively SEC forum negates any smack talk that you can possibly offer. What are you doing?

I see you've met Randy. Anywhere and everywhere A&M is mentioned across the internet, Randy will be there to spew his drivel.
The amount of time this guy has committed to posting about A&M across multiple platforms is staggering. It might be the strongest and saddest obsession in all of college sports.

Aggy even stopped high school football games from being shown on the Longhorn Network.
The NCAA stopped that, because it was NOT ALLOWED...and it wasn't just football that you tried to put on your shite channel. You tried to make your channel the exclusive TV station for all UIL events, the very definition of an impermissible benefit.

It was uncharted territory. There were no definitive rules against it.
The checks ca$h just the same, though.

Exhibit A of how the t-sip mind works:
"We know this is bad, is ethically wrong, and will almost certainly be blocked by the NCAA, but it's uncharted territory and there are no rules against it, so how dare you criticize us for being the unethical fricks we are."

I don't think any school that employed Jackie Sherrill as its football coach has room to lecture about ethics.
ESPN pushed all that, The University of Texas just cashed the checks. If you are so concerned, maybe you should forego your own ESPN money?

UT and ArenaCo — which includes OVG, Live Nation, C3 Presents and Matthew McConaughey — are putting the finishing touches on a 35-year agreement. Los Angeles-based Oak View will lease 6.64 acres between Red River Street and Robert Dedman Drive for construction, and UT will own the arena once it's completed.

You mean the same Jackie Sherrill that sued the NCAA for defamation and WON?
Might want to try again.

Jackie Sherrill didn't win a defamation suit. It was settled before it went to trial. And none of those issues dealt with his time at aggy.

A wise move? That's debatable. After all, Sherrill may be the Pied Piper of college football -- wherever he goes, the NCAA's watchful eye is sure to follow.
quote:
Sherrill built that pride at A&M;, only to depart in disgrace. The Aggies, who rose under Sherrill to make three consecutive trips to the Cotton Bowl, were placed on probation in September 1988.
Two months later, George Smith, a fullback for the Aggies in 1982 and '83, said Sherrill had paid him "hush money" to keep quiet about rules violations during that period. The day after Smith's story appeared in newspapers, he recanted the allegations, explained that the money was nothing more than a loan to help him get on his feet. The NCAA finally gave up the case, citing an inability to determine the truth.
Sherrill left anyway, apparently forced out by A&M; President William H. Mobley after the Smith situation. Two months earlier, Mobley had promised the NCAA he would personally guarantee Sherrill's compliance with NCAA rules. Mobley reportedly was so angry he told A&M;'s Board of Regents either Sherrill left or they could find a new president. Out Sherrill went.
"What happened at A&M; is something he is going to have to deal with forever, whether he knows it or not," Steve Sloan, a roommate of Sherrill's during their playing days at Alabama and the athletic director at North Texas, told The Sporting News. "It isn't just going to go away."

If it were possible to buy a national title, yall would have done so by now.
Sooo...LSU didn't win one for 50 years, but that rule didn't apply to them? Florida didn't win one for 90 years..but that rule didn't apply to them? Auburn didn't win one for 50 plus year...but that rule didn't apply to them?
I'd love to know what the "magic threshold" is for when a team can still win an NC. That would solve a lot of programs' problems and they could just give up.
By the way, your post makes you look like a raging, insecure idiot.
Strange that our "lane" is 4th..when we just finished 2nd, ahead of you. Weird how we hired Jimbo Fisher...when you tried..and failed...twice.
Maybe that's because LSU is a garbage university in a town that's even worse?
