That was 100% the RF fault, that's your ball even if u have to truck your own teammate.

He wanted to be the big man by getting the final out.

And now it has turned into a nightmare.

3 guys converge and nobody catches the winning ball for the natty. Nightmares for all of them

its outfielders job to call both off. he has the absolute best angle and least amount of room to close in on the ball

getting the last for a Natty would be cool, picture on the paper, etc...

Trying to be a hero. I appreciate the hustle to get over there but he forced himself into the play and didn't make it. He's 3rd in line on guys who should be calling to make that catch.

Second baseman over ran the pop up by 6 feet after he was calling for it.

Right fielder should have called everyone off.

He had no business going after that ball that was the OF ball all the way...just a selfish play that now has a chance to cost them a NC...

RF needed to be sprinting and calling everyone off. I put that far more on him than Shaddy.

DVH is within his right to make them both cry like children in front of the team for that mistake, not that he did them any favors leaving Cronin out there after the game was tied.

That 2B should have still been sitting in the infield. Shouldn’t have even been needed to be called off.

If u truly believe this you're a dumbass! He should have never called it unless he has a bead on it but all 3 should 100% be going after that ball. RF is most at fault he should have been screaming for it and ran them other two off!

Unless an infielder is already camped under it, the guy coming in running forward has to call that. Much easier to catch a ball running forward than back or sideways

Why are yall bitching about the 2B? He at least tried to make a play but sadly overran it. The one who deserves the criticism is the RF. He has to call everyone off and make that play at that angle, but instead quits and gives up on the play at the end. That was the laziest effort I've ever seen an athlete show on a play in any sport. He ought to be ashamed of himself. He lost Arkansas the national title. Terrible effort.

I am honestly sad by the lack of baseball logic on this board

I thought a southern sports message board would be better

1. He absolutely should go for that ball untill called off. Any coach would chew your arse out of you don’t. Balls in that foul area are sometimes only playable by the 2nd baseman

2. He wasn’t third in line there. He was second. The 1b has the hardest play on that ball out of the 3
