I appreciate what he did for LSU. He put us back at the top after years of mediocrity. It sucks that he's now at a divisional rival(yeah yeah, we're not BAMA's rival) but it was the best job open at the time and you can't fault him for taking that job. I am more than happy with our current coach and don't wish for Saban back, but if Miles left for some reason I'd welcome his return(I know this will never happen). LSU has a lot to be grateful for in regards to Saban and 95% of LSU fans I know and talk football with have respect, not hate, for Nick Saban

Saban did essentially put LSU on the map, he brought the program to levels it had not reached during many of our lifetimes. LSU gained a lot of popularity during his time which is because he won. Also talent he inherited is overblown, LSU had talent thanknto Dinardo but no depth. Saban also inherited a lot of young players he groomed. Just like Dinardo inherited talent so did Saban.
Yes, I will agree that in modern times, Saban "helped" put LSU on the map. Saban did not do it all by himself. Mark Emmert gave him unprecedented control of the football program. Saban enjoyed power that no other football coach in the history of LSU football came close to having. Emmert and Skip Bertman gave Saban TAF. They gave him unprecedented $$$$$ for LSU to build athletic facilities to support the LSU football program that no other coach in the history of LSU could ever dream of.
The talent that Saban inherited is not overblown. LSU won the 2001 SEC Championship with some really great talent recruited by Gerry DiNardo. No one will ever argue with you or anyone else that Saban did not step up LSU's recruiting to unprecedented levels. Saban was, and still is, one of the greatest recruiters in college football history.

Any LSU fan that hates Saban is very misguided. LSU WOULD NOT be where we are today, without Saban. While maintaining a program is harder than building one, what Saban did for my school, will never be forgotten.

no and no....you know that you were on the other side of the fence then...whether you admit it or not that is on you...frankly I couldn't care less. Was just curious what your views were now.

He's also the best recruiter in the game right now.
disagree. He recruits well at bama, no doubt...but bama recruits itself to a certain degree. You give me Saban or Miles to go into a recruits house, I'll take Miles every time...and I like Saban.

Both are awesome, but Saban does work.

True, but you could say the same about LSU with all the success LSU has had the past 10 or so years.Recruits in this year's class were 6 or 7 years old in 2003 when LSU won the title and you guys have been winning ever since.

don't disagree.
Miles is showing now that he can recruit very well OOS...which is taking LSU to new highs. IF LSU can win the NC this coming year, imo, it will be Les Miles and Nick Saban as the best two in college football, and it ain't even close. However, you will still get your bloggers and writers continuing to rank miles middle of the pack in the SEC. That is such a joke. I always loved Petrino being ranked ahead of Miles by some....without ever winning crap. Hell I saw last year where Muschamp was ranked ahead of him without ever being a head coach.

After what LSU did last year especially I don't think anyone even at this point can Deny that Miles is a great coach.

I appreciate what Nick Saban did for LSU. He left for the NFL, trying to improve himself. Good for him. He went to Alabama after failing miserably. I hate Alabama just as much as I hate everyone else we play. He's Alabama's head coach. I hate him. Has nothing to do with him leaving LSU, it's the fact that he's at a bitter adversary that we play annually.

So whose alter are you, also I've never been on that side of the fence. I have said in past that LSU could go anywhere from 7-5 to 10-2 and that was 3 seasons ago. Of course in 08 I said 8 wins..... But again, whose alter are you since we know alters dont lurk 3+ years.

Are you talking to me or someone else? The first time I ever posted on SECrant was a week or two ago when I made this account that I'm using now.

He's talkng to me. He thinks I was an alter. TCuden used to be very anti-miles, along with nuts4lsu. He won't admit it now, but back then, everyone that didn't agree that miles would lead lsu to mediocrity was an idiot that just accepted being a mediocre program. Nuts actually said that LSU would never beat a saban or meyer coached team again as long as miles was coaching lsu.

We still have the number 1 class according to 247 even after losing Foster. We are also in the top 2 schools for about five uncommitted 5 star players right now, with a lead for most of them.He isn't slipping at all.

These rankings can and will change, I don't believe either LSU or Bama will fall out of the top 5 or 6, but each team could get a real boost, depending on who wins the SEC/NC. LSU could become a big winner here, as they are still in the hunt for several top prospects as well. If bama wins, it is hard to climb higher than 1st.

He sucks as do you. Next question.

UA has recruited LB's like fricking crazy the last few years. The kid moved to Auburn, is around AU folks, and is going to play ball with 2 AU assist. coaches kids.
UA's LB corps is totally stacked. AU's LB corps is a total trainwreck. I can't blame the kid for switching.
If ,after all that is brought to your attention, you want to say he is "slipping" go right ahead. You'll look foolish, but hell, its your right to look that way.
