Thanks bruh, curious to where you got your pic? Is that Mett in all of his glory against NC South east Minnesota east central pirates?
I had Mett put on his gear and strike a pose. He lives next to me, and we kick it from time to time. Pretty humble of him to do that for me, really.

He's showed nothing but total disregard and disrespect for LSU since he announced he was leaving on Christmas Day 2004, which is why I hate him. A few of the highlights:
1. Totally zoned out and unengaged during the Capital One Bowl.
So how do you feel about Les, then? I'm pretty sure that zoning out in the BCSNCG is a little more of a problem than zoning out in the Cap One Bowl.
quote:
2. Came back 2 years later to a division rival. Yes he did a lot for LSU but LSU did a lot for him too and IMO it was a slap in the face for him to do that.
I can understand this to an extent.

3. Taking all the credit for the 2006 team in his intro presser
Okay.

4. The coonass thing
Isn't that what you guys are? Or do you prefer corndogs?
quote:
5. Literally stealing one of our traditions (The Win Bar) that was here long before he was and bringing it to Bama.
Well...you guys have been doing pom-poms of late. And that really pisses me off!
quote:
6. Giving us absolutely no credit for winning on 11/5.
I'm pretty sure he did. You guys just didn't hear it because you all were doing a pretty good job of giving yourselves credit for that win.
Do you really need some validation from Nick?

No but it's just classless and not at all the Nick Saban I remember which has made it all the more surprising.

Hating Nick Saban is not a requiremnet to show "caring" for the football program. It is, however, and extremely immature way to deal with a situation that was a business decision, nothing more nothing less.

Way to police your own rantards. Ill give you a legit response now.
I think he is a great coach, but he just has always come off as a total douchebag of a man. I respect him for his coaching prowess, while i think its shitty that he could have pretty much any coaching job in college, he chooses to sit across the pond and play battle with his old school, poaching our recruiting grounds.
I dont know if i would want him back over Miles, because i feel that Miles is the same caliber coach and i like his personality better, but if Miles left i would take Saban in a heartbeat. All in all, i dont have anything against the little guy.

Ok #1 I don't think this is the same thing at all as selling cars or something like that. The "it's just business" doesn't really work for me but putting that aside for a second, I actually have some loyalty and wouldn't go out of my way to try to hurt a former employer. Especially one that did a tremendous amount for my career and helped me become a very well known member of my profession.
Nick Saban got 3 MASSIVE contracts, 1 with us in January 2004, one with the Dolphins in December 2004, and another with Alabama in January 2007. All 3 of those were based entirely on what he had done at LSU. IMO he owed us more loyalty than that. If you disagree that's fine but you don't get to be the arbiter on what is or isn't a legitimate or "mature" opinion to have.

Yeah...I guess he left his class behind in BR when he went to the Dolphins. Or did he leave it in Miami?
Not to set you off, but we sorta did beat ourselves.

you just cant empathize. that is most gumps problem. imagine if saban left alabama then went to go coach for the jets, came back and started coaching at auburn. At auburn he out recruits everyone and wins 2 NCs including one against alabama which is a mulligan. just try to understand how it feels.

How do you really feel about Nick Saban?Do you hate him for the way he left?Do you love him for having a great run at LSU and winning a NC?If he wanted to come back to LSU someday would you accept him?
I have not read a single other post, so I say this without the benefit of reading what others have said.
The only problem I have ever had with Nick Saban was his constant lies about leaving for the NFL. He consistently lied over and over again about his intentions of going to the NFL. I never had an issue with him going to the NFL, it's just all the lies when he interviewed with the Bears in 2003 and then accepting the Miami job on Christmas Day in 2004 after lying over and over about it.
Mark Emmert and Nick Saban were great for LSU and I will always be very thankful to both for their huge contributions to our program. Saban was exactly what we needed in 2000 and Emmert gave him all the money, power, and facilities and backing to allow him to be very successful.
For the record: Saban wanted to come back to LSU and talked to several people in power back in 2006 before he took the Bama job.
He is 60 years old and will retire at Bama, so it's all meaningless whether we would accept him back now.
He's a great coach. You should be damn glad you have him and I know you are. LSU survived just fine since he left. Therefore, both of us should be happy with the way things are now.

Did you intentionally post that again or is there something going on with the server?

I don't hate Saban. He is a great football coach and I for one couldn't thank him enough for helping elevate The LSU program to its current level. Now that he is the coach for Bama, f'em. He isn't a Tiger so he is the enemy, just like every other coach in the SEC. I would say the Same for Mile if a similar situation occurred.

a lot of people forget; when saban left for the dolphins he was kind of cruising. i felt, at the time, that he had won his nc and was looking for bigger mountains to climb. basically, he was destined to leave college football. once he was in the nfl, he realized that college ball was where his heart was and it reenergized him. bama was lucky as the timing was right and they were smart to pursue him doggedly and offer him the bank. esp after the previous decade or more of mediocrity and coaching embarassments.
i like saban and am glad he coached at lsu. what i tire of is...
1)dumb asses that say saban put lsu on the map. obviously they are very young or just not familiar with our program
2)people that are ignorant and say that lsu had no talent when saban arrived at lsu. wrong. dinardo had some damn good talent he just had the worst dc in football and stuck by him. saban inherited a lot better talent at lsu than he did at bama.
3)people that discount ALL other college coaches because saban walks on water. not true. there are a number of football coaches in his league.
i give the man his due. as long as he keeps his focus (and it appears he still has it), he is one of the best football coaches in college.

He left for the Dolphins, can't blame him for that. Like any of us wiuld turn down what amounts to a promotion. He went to bama and turned them into the team that is new standard in SEC, I respect him for what he did at LSU and look at him and Alabama as a challenge.
