If football were in any serious trouble we’d roll over on Wade in a heartbeat to make it go away. These “penalties” have been discussed and negotiated with the NCAA for months. I realize many of you are bitter at LSU but no amount of wishing something worse into existence will make it so.

I never hope for programs to go thru bullshite with the NCAA. They are a capricious bunch of dicks and every program in the SEC should break away completely.

Self loss 8 scholarships seems pretty damn serious.
You should also self ban from a bowl this year. You will save the SEC a lot of embarrassment!

LSU had a former player on the field after a national championship game handing out cash to players, then tried to deny it was real money before Burrow squashed that. Oh and they had a booster give a kid 180k that he laundered through a children's hospital. All of this has been proven to be true. I guess technically that means it's about 9x worse than what OM was alleged to do so you aren't wrong about it being 1000x worse.

It's really not. It's not even a slap on the wrist. The 8 scholarships comes off the 85 limit which will still allow LSU to sign 25 in the next class because of the low numbers we already have. This is a joke. They over punished Beckham to offset it and make it look like they were actually doing something.

There were 3 components to the LSU football investigation. The OLOL thing and an impermissible contact during recruiting were both wrapped up and ready to be closed. Then, the Beckham thing happened and the case was reopened. IMO they included the 2 year ban for Beckham to make it look as if they were serious about the punishment as a whole.
