Sources: Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl is new name for Las Vegas Bowl. Mitsubishi Motors signs 2-year naming rights deal. In 2020, bowl will move to Raiders’ new stadium & expected to feature Pac-12 vs. SEC

Nice
It does suck that the MWC is getting screwed out a bowl game.

I doubt that it will be this low on the bowl order considering its a state of the art NFL stadium in a marquee destination with non-stop flights from everywhere.
I can see it being at the top of the PAC 12 bowl order over the Alamo Bowl and heck it might be above (or just after) the Outback Bowl for the SEC.

Will this replace the Birmingham Bowl?
here's the 2018 lineup ....
- Sugar Bowl vs. Big 12
- Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl vs. Big Ten or ACC
– AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs. Big 12
– Belk Bowl vs. ACC
– Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl vs. ACC or Big Ten (most likely the ACC)
– Outback Bowl vs. Big Ten
– TaxSlayer Bowl vs. ACC or Big Ten (most likely the Big Ten)
– Texas Bowl vs. Big 12
– Birmingham Bowl vs. American Athletic
– Independence Bowl vs. ACC

Well, the city is getting a new stadium near the hotels and eating establishments around the BJCC. So, the game should be more fan-friendly by that point.

If its not a NY6 or playoff then I'm crossing my fingers for Vegas. Bahamas Popeyes bowl would be my 2nd choice.

It won't be a battle of heavyweights but at least it'll provide some fresh and intriguing matchups with a conference we don't see much. There's only so many times you can tune in on NYD to watch SEC teams play wisconsin/iowa/northwestern/purdue/MSU

I am 100% in for this bowl. If we don't make playoffs or NY6 I want this one every year.

Perhaps, but you have to admit that sending a 6 loss sec team to Birmingham is the perfect punishment for mediocrity.
