Last year if I remember correctly both UGA and Bama had very few if any in the portal until the playoff was finished and both teams ended up with 10-14 in the portal before it was all said and done.

This is great.
While A&M hasn’t lost many (one) starters (Denver Harris) we are losing depth for sure. That is probably truthful for Alabama as well. LSU has very few players in the portal and that’s no slight on them or a feather in their cap. They were thin coming into the year and will probably be heavy recipients of transfers.
I guess you’ll have a few categories of teams bleeding players via transfer:
Loss of depth (mostly non starters, still potentially damaging)
Loss of confidence in program (losing a lot of major key players)
This is so interesting to me. It’s not often you get to watch such a major shift happening

The third category is guys whose coach told them they should seek employment elsewhere.

We dont have a lot yet because UGA and us played in the championship game last week. While the rest of the SEC was busy getting their names in for the portal on Monday, we were both focused on a game. You are going to see UGA and LSU players hitting the portal all week this week as both coaching staffs can now talk to the guys about their futures.
We fully expect double digit players to hit the portal on our side when all is said and done. Just a ton of guys who havent played between this coaching staff and the previous one. So far only 2 have entered the portal (there's 4 names in there but Webb and Sampah were medical retirements from before the season, they were not on the team this year)
