There are some impressive receivers in this conference, that’s for sure.

I'm confused. Jhamon Ausbon's catch percentage was over 71% and he was Mond's #1 target. How is he not on your list when he is returning?

Ah, I confused him with one of your guys going pro. Didn't realize he was back. That's huge. I'll update.

Alabama and LSU were simply ridiculous last year.
Also want to give credit to Grimes at UF. He provided some good mismatches and did very Very well.
Racey McMath will be in sec top ten next year.

SOG sometimes I think you're too nice. You missed the perfect opportunity for a "The list only included players whose teams people give a shite about"

The guys that jumped out to me were the 2 kids from Missouri and Grimes. Missouri's will depend on QB situation, but Grimes looks like a guy who is going to blow up as the #1 this year. In his limited role he made tons of plays last year.

Lsu had 3 players with over 80% catch percentage... Nice

When your QB's Accuracy % is 75% and his adjusted Accuracy is 84% it makes your catch per target number look pretty good as long as you don't drop um

I don't see any mention of UGA stud receiver Matt Landers on here.
List is shite

List is shite
Matty L is rockin that 45% catch rate and 4.77 yards per target - in the bottom 5 of all returning SEC WRs with at least 20 targets.
Have no fear, he is #1 IN THE SEC in Drop Rate at 22.7%
YUUUUUGE upside

I still refuse to believe UGA had no better option. I just can't be convinced otherwise.

He should move to cb or safety

He's too thin to play defense, and Landers isn't exactly the most physical kid.
By all accounts he's a good kid and hard worker, but he just isn't an SEC receiver.

What's the difference between Catch % and Success Rate?
Success rate has a general definition of:
Picking up at least 50% of available yardage on 1st down
Picking up at least 70% of available yards on 2nd down
Picking up at least 100% of available yardage on 3rd/4th down
So for instance on 1st/10 picking up at least 5 yards = a success, picking up 4 or less yards = not a success
A way to read success rate vs. catch percentage is this.
If someone has a low catch percentage but high success rate, that means their catches they make are more meaningful. I.E. maybe they get thrown at downfield a lot and make plays there but hardly ever close to LOS.
IF someone has a high catch percentage but low success rate, that means their catches they are making are less meaningful. I.E. someone who gets a lot of screens or short passes that dont always pick up many yards.
For example, someone with an 80% catch rate, but say a 55% success rate is not as valuable as someone with a 68% catch rate but 60% success rate.
