Agreed. Very few fricks have ever been given about baseball in Athens. Not one single frick has ever been given about basketball.
And so many titles have been won, in both sports, with players from UGa's backyard. They obviously just don't care at all

I didn't control for schools that don't compete in every sport. If a school doesn't compete in something it counts as a sport with no titles. For ease of counting I also consolidated some of the same lesser men's and women's sports under one heading.

Not even close in Big Three titles. UT ran it up in the smaller sports, but LSU owns UT in the Big Three category.

What? How many sports are SEC sanctioned?
If we’re including regular season and tournament I can think off the top of my head we have SEC titles in baseball, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s tennis, softball, and women’s track and field.

Regarding UGA track history. That is why I'm curious Matthew Boling is going there
Because there's ancient history and there's current history. Currently, Georgia has one of the best track coaches in the nation. He took a sleepy program and won two national titles in no time. He recruits like a beast. Georgia took a step back this year but will challenge for a national championship next year based on the class that is coming in.
By the way, Georgia has one of the best programs in the world for the weight events. If Boiling can work on his shot, discus, and javelin, he could win gold in the decathlon one day.

Check the number of times Georgia has been to the CWS and you'll see we've had some pretty decent success in baseball. One national championship and a runner-up.
Basketball is our undoing. Can't keep local talent in the state. Coaches either succeed and leave (Tubby Smith), cheat (Jim Harrick), fall flat (Dennis Felton), or are mediocre (Fox). Crean has arrived with a lot of energy, but let's see where that goes.

Now this is the kind of info that I pay for.
Thanks DT

Solid info by the OP. UF does have the best all round sports program. It’s amazing

There is no Big 3. It’s the Big 2 where Tennessee holds commanding series leads.

That kind of surprises me. I know LSU is usually a pretty good sports school all around. I really thought they might be 2nd behind Florida.
Compare that with:
Big 3 SEC Titles:
UK: 78
UA: 61
LSU: 54
UF: 41
And it looks like LSU is quite balanced. Top 3 in the big three. And top 4 across all sports. Only Florida can claim to be better across these combined metrics.

Youth, if it didn't happen in the last ten years it doesn't count. hahahaha
Then I see bowl games mean nothing to the criteria. hahaha Bowls played, bowls won and percentage w-l in bowls should matter too.
