SEC perspective on the Patriots dynasty

The Pats dynasty began in 2001. Think about how much has changed just in the SEC since then
Spurrier and Fulmer were still at UT and UF and national title contenders
Saban in year 2 at LSU had just pulled off a major upset over UT in the SECCG
Mark Richt and Houston Nutt were new hotness
16 fricking years later and Brady and Belichick are going to the Super Bowl AGAIN. They predated the beginning of Saban’s Bama dynasty by 8 years, and they are still going strong.
The Belichick/Saban parallelism has been talked to death but is still interesting as hell.

10 years from now we will still be in the midst of Saban’s dynasty at Alabama.

In a league whose entire financial and roster management structure is crafted to prevent it the Patriots still do it every single year.
It's unbelievable.
It's unbelievable.

We all think Belichick could be successful in College game. We know that Saban wasn't in the NFL. That is the big difference.

Saban is just getting warmed up biggio.

Morons will argue that it’s because of Brady. Yet Dungy and the Colts had Peyton and “only” won one. Packers with Rodgers, Saints with Brees etc.
Brady/Belichick is just a phenomenal pairing of GOAT talent.

You need a QB to be successful in the NFL. Belichick has had Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady. Saban had Gus Frerotte, Joey Harrington, and a washed up Dante Culpepper. Saban wanted Drew Brees badly but the organization wouldn't have it after the best orthopedic surgeon on the planet told them Brees would never play a down of football again.

Their ability to move on from guys, draft and sign guys with specific abilities that fit what they do is the best in the history of American sports.
The way the NFL salary rules work, it's seriously unreal the way they just chug on year after year.

And you are a moron. Belichick coached the Cleveland Browns for the first 5 years of his Head Coaching career. His record was 36-44 and he was fired.
Cherry picking your facts doesn't work.

I Puppet hates all things Saban.
No matter what.
7-49. Makes my leg tingle just thinking about it.

I actually like Saban, but I think his greatness needs to be put in perspective.

That he has built his success in the pool of college football. The championships have been built under different rules then just 15 years ago. How many non-conference champions who were not Independents have won NCs. Saban did it twice in the last 7 years. How many times did people say FSU was the best team in the country at the end of the year in the 90s, only to have them voted 2nd because of one loss. The rules change in college football to win championships, not so much in the NFL. When they do change, it is an even playing field.

Belichick is a good coach (which matters most in the NFL) with quality players. Saban is an average coach with alot of talent. You give them both average talent and Bill will win. Saban will be average with a decent year if things line up one year.
