The SEC may ban teams from warming up before games in their practice facilities instead of in the stadium.

quote:

It looks like Lane Kiffin might persuade a league-wide change for pregame procedures. Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel is reporting that the SEC is in talks about creating a new policy about teams warming up before games in indoor facilities instead of at the stadium, as Ole Miss has done at times this year, including before the Alabama game.

Cause that just screams that it’s such a serious issue it needs to be addressed immediately.

Lol wow...the only thing that's missing is this: "SEC officials believe that this unfair advantage is part of what's propelled Ole Miss to a 1-4 start this season"

Honestly, both teams should warm up on field, it's not that difficult, been doing it for 130plus years in college football.

Ok, but why? Other than that's just how it's been done forever.

Meanwhile, after a quick review, Gus Malzahns Auburn team will be allowed to warm-up on the field

What's the advantage of the home team being able to warm up at a practice facility? And why is this something the SEC feels they need to address right now?

What need is there to change, both teams should warm up on the field pregame as has always been the case.

The larger issue is that in the grand scheme of things why does this need to change when we can come up with a long, long laundry list of much more pertinent issues the SEC needs to be addressing.

Starting with their shoddy arse review system in Birmingham.

That's not what I asked. Why does it matter? Because something has been done a certain way doesn't justify that an insignificant change is inherently wrong.

And in the long list of things that actually need to be addressed by the SEC offices, this isn't one of them. I know of no one who cares where a team warms up before a game...except apparently the SEC offices

I agree, I would almost think it would be a disadvantage to warm up in a different location than where the game is played, most obviously for skill players and special teams.

I've never seen anyone else do this, even at high schools that have indoor facilities.

Damn straight Belle. Tell them like it is.

This is just the SEC hitting back at Lane Kiffin for calling them out. Next it will be Arky. No pig snouts allowed. Unfair because the football is a pigskin. Unfair advantage.
