I zoomed in and it looks like he got the ball out. Could be wrong though, wouldn't the first time.

Look at it when his leg touches the ground.

To be clear, I'm not claiming we lost because of the refs or that we didn't get beneficial calls as well. I'm just saying if I performed my job as poorly as what our refs have shown lately then I'm flipping burgers or on the unemployment line. Considering how enormous CFB is, those guys have to elevate their work.

one millimeter of the ball is out of the endzone it’s no safety.

Not so. One millimeter of the ball across the line is a TD. To avoid a safety ALL of the ball must be out when the knee touches. This is a safety.

If anyone thinks SEC officials are not corrupt, then go re-watch the A&M vs. LSU game in 2018. That was the most obvious case of felony theft in college football history. As those corrupt SEC officials stole that game away from LSU on at least four different occasions.

Just this past game against cent mich; the incompetent damn zebras screwed lsu outta 10 yards after Smiths catch… marking the ball on the incorrect 45 even AFTER it was reviewed. So I have to agree with the subject of this thread. Something needs to be done about the horrible officiating….

And another thing; tbh I wasn’t sure who
I was more upset with; the refs for incorrectly spotting and marking the ball in the first place, or fricken coach O and the plethora of people on his staff that should’ve noticed that but didn’t or didn’t say anything to alert the refs… I know the game was well in hand and it didn’t make a difference; but imagine if that happens in a SEC game or a big game down the line where those 10 yards could’ve been crucial; and coach O doesn’t even notice…. Smh

Auburn crying like a woman over a perceived bad call.

LSU fan says hold my beer, this is what WE do.

The entire ball has to get out dumbass. Let this be a lesson to you

I decided to look this up, because during the broadcast, the commentary was that if any portion of the ball made it across the goal line, it was not a safety. However, based on what I’m reading - both the broadcast team and the officials may have been wrong.

I had to download the full NCAA PDF Rulebook to access this, but here you go:

quote:

Approved Ruling 8-5-1
Section 5. Safety
I. A10, after receiving the snap in his own end zone, is downed with the ball resting on his goal line, its forward point being in the field of play. RULING: Safety. A part of the dead ball is on the ball carrier’s goal line.

ETA: I see this has already been discussed a couple times. I should have just read the thread instead of the entire NCAA Rulebook.
