I don't think I've watched anything outside of an actual game on SEC Network since it first came on the air.

SEC network has been a complete letdown compared to what it could have been.

Well, if you haven't seen any of the episodes of True South, then you are really missing something. That show is greatness.

Having Paul finebaum on 247 kills anyone’s desire to watch it

The SEC storied series was/is pretty good.

The Sunday morning around the league show is a good way to catch up on games that you missed on Saturday.

Its like Madden .. your going to make money so screw quality programming and content ...both Madden and the sec network need to start from scratch and reimagine what is possible instead of putting out crummy content that makes us all vomit

I like it and I like Edge, but it can sometimes get a little overdone. Solid B+

this is horrible: Thinking Out Loud (Returns Monday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m.)

Spencer Hall and Richard Johnson return to Monday evenings for their signature college football-related banter.

True South is a good show, though the episode that was all about the host I thought was overdone. I like the stories about the people of the SEC and the restaurants, that's good stuff.

They could probably do a show on traditions. Best tailgates. How all the different traditions of the schools of the SEC came to be. Throw in some fun stuff like tailgating stories and have folks that have been tailgating for 30 years at the same place and how they evolved. Much rather listen to that then having more Finebaum or another show with 2 Journos that argue.

Lot of potential still there but they seem to just make it into a light version of ESPN and it's just not nearly as interesting.

TrueSouth - Yes

TOL - No

Thinking Out Loud was the best show on SECN when McElroy and Spears were on.

Yep. Could have been like the Longhorn network. Have good programming like "Cooking With Vince". Oh well. Maybe we'll let you guys use our studio kitchen when you start up SEC Network - Austin.

They don't want to spend the money it would take to have original programming because they payoff just isn't there. Even if everyone who posts on messages boards claiming that they would watch such programming actually did so, that's just not a big enough audience to recover the investment.

They should have a show called "SEC Roundtable" where unofficial reps from every school are on a panel and they can just flame/debate the hell out of each other like what we see here at tRant.

I'd also like to see an SEC Rivalry Debate series where you'd have, say, a rep from Alabama and a rep from Auburn (or whatever rivalry you choose) just go after each other for 90 minutes in a presidential debate format.

Stuff like that would be fun.

Have to think shows like "True South" are pretty inexpensive. It's just a host who travels around with a small crew (Probably 4 people all told) and they do some basic editing. Don't have to hire big name talent either that cost the major dollars.

I hope a rumored SecW Network channel that is separate from the main network is true. Too much Alabama on the SECN.
