Maybe there’s a way to stem this SEC dominance. Maybe, for the good of the game and fair competition—and peace and love and Kumbaya—it’s time to hold the SEC accountable for its nonconference schedule (in)actions.

It’s time for a nonconference schedule tax.

I've had the same opinion for years. The counterargument from my SEC friends isn't so much one of prestige, but economics. Auburn, for instance, sees a shed-load of money pour in for those "extra" home games against cupcakes that would be sorely missed if they were playing a quality opponent on the road. Hotels, restaurants and bars are all dependent on that home game cash.

Smarter folks than me can do the math, but if you trade 3 home games for a prestigious OOC schedule it hurts the town economy in a big way.

And we all know CF is money driven.

Those are some squishy non-cons, but they're accompanied by the hardest conference schedules, so IDGAF.

Texas\Ole Miss and Washington/LSU are better than UGA/GT and SC/Clemson?

I could see UK losing to both of the Kentucky teams on their schedule.
