So if he recruits better, but the results on the field are the same, is Kirby a better coach than Richt?

I'd say no. I'd say he's worse because he achieving the same results with better inputs.

In Larry Coker’s case, yes.

Those are people who are either too lazy or too dumb to evaluate situations and performance on a case-by-case basis.

So he can coach but cannot recruit right players to continue the same thing. Also might be making adjustments! Other head coaches make the adjustment to what he did the first year and then no adjustment to counter what others made to continue to win.

Also look at what Urban Meyers did! He was doing great then when others were able to make adjustment to beat his teams he then panic and quit. Then did the same thing when he landed at OSU. Once others figured it out and made adjustment and he then did the same old panic thing and it was over for him.

How would you know all that? I believe Drinkwitz will be a lot better than people give him for what he did at NCS as an offensive coordinator and at Appalachian State as a first year head coach that beat South Carolina and North Carolina with a lot less talents on his team.

UH, Bobby Ross took the Chargers to their only Super Bowl appearence. He does not belong in that list.

Chad Morris rode his Clemson OC success to back to back two win seasons here.

App St was loaded and would have won Drink or not.

He may pan out or not.I'd say give him a couple of years and see what happens. That's what we dd.

Nope! South Carolina had a much better team but Will Muschamp could not beat Drinkwitz's team. Same for North Carolina. Chad Morris sucks! Why? Look at his head coach at SMU! He was still not getting it done! I knew he was not even close to being ready. The offense at Clemson were below average when he was the OC there and when he left Clemson's offense got am lot better! Two different situation. Also Drinkwitz's offense was very good. Now at Missouri and the defense is set and ready. The offense was the biggest problem. He is the offense and said he will run the offense. That is the key and Missouri shall be a lot better this year if college football is going to be played this year.

Not true! He did win more east division titles within a short period of time as a head coach at Georgia.
But that might change within a couple of years.

Anyone saying Mullen is better than Kirby doesn't appreciate facts.

In college he had a record of 103-101-2. In the NFL he had a record of 77-68.

This proves my point, don't you think? Having one good or even great year does not make one a great, or even good HC. If he won a NC and took a NFL team to the Super Bowl and h=finished his career with those records he was NOT a good coach. He caught lightening in a bottle twice.

Can you name a time when Mark Richt played for a NC and finished in the top 10 three years in a row and finished in the top 4 twice in three years?

We shall see. Kirby has to win the SEC this year or Richt's first 5 year accomplishments will surpass his at UGA.

Richt has a better win percentage through the first 4 years.

No one remembers 2nd place, or who finishes top 4, or top 10. Kirby won an SEC Championship. That's all that's really noteworthy about his tenure so far at UGA. And to be honest, with the way he recruits and the talent he has, that's not a good look.

At this point in his career at UGA, Richt had also won the SEC once and had a higher win %, and as my previous post indicates, Kirby needs to win it this year or he'll fall decidedly behind Richt's accomplishments at UGA.

He also needs to beat Saban or Orgeron.

If nobody remembers those accomplishment, then that is their problem. Playing for a NC is pretty noteworthy.

I guess LSU has only been relevant in 4 years of their existence. Talk about not being a good look. Using your logic, Georgia is a very, very bad program, and LSU is not very good, either.

And here I thought only National Championships mattered.

Congrats on your good year.

I've been pretty clear winning the SEC is definitely a noteworthy accomplishment. Winning a Natty is obviously more noteworthy.

Quote me where I said, "only national championships matter." I said only trophies matter -- maybe I need to explain that more: SEC and National Title trophies are what matter. Everything else is pretty largely irrelevant.

I mentioned beating Saban or Orgeron because some UGA fans act like Kirby is no. 2 in the conference. He's not. He doesn't have a natty and he can't beat 1 or 2. If he had some wins against them then I suppose that could bolster their case somewhat.

Kirby is solidly in the 3-5 range of SEC coaches. That's great and nothing to get bent out of shape over.
