SEC football things that have surprised me

As the newcomers to the league it has been a good ride. Here are the biggest surprises I and most fans outside of the SEC probably don’t realize about this conference:
1. Shocked that teams genuinely don’t moan about their $ shares. That’s ALL we heard in the B12, how OU or UT deserved multiple times more $. They treated the rest of teams like parasites. Here, even Vandy is treated with re$pect. It’s amazing.
2. Football recruiting is the 2nd biggest sport here. Few other fan bases treat recruiting with this level of interest. I really think it’s part of what got Odom fired, if we were in any other conference I don’t think his Rivals numbers would be sited. That said, glad he’s gone.
3. Fanbases are all awesome trips to visit for an away game. I’ve not had a single bad road trip experience. The hospitality in person is second to none. Cheers.

The SEC rewards it’s winners. I think LSU pocketed 4+ Million for its postseason wins, I’m not sure that would have happened in other conferences.

You gettin it now! This is the second season. Everything else is just busy work to get to next football season. And I say this as a lifetime UKBB fan...

I could be wrong, but I think those payouts are from the bowls/CFP and have nothing to do with conference.

Missouri only hindered itself. Had nothing to do with OU or Texas treating you like you were less. Missouri had every chance to make their move to higher values in 2007 and you let Oklahoma win, again. Missouri only has themselves to blame.
Also, anywhere is a vacation outside of Misery. Columbia is a dump. St. Louis is a dump. Kansas City barely on the MO side is decent.
And before you go saying places in OK are a dump, I already know that about Lawton and much of the western half of our state.
