Auburn needs all the help they can get. Let them use gimmicks - let them have an eagle on the Jumbotron

Calling you out on this one my man......been in Davis Wade to many times to know better. You rascals ring them bells anytime you want to. Personally, I don't find it that annoying.

SEC creates rule to stop Auburn from putting Eagle on jumbotron while
In the LSU Florida game last year, it was foggy as shite if y'all remember, Florida would turn the lights all the way up on the ribbon boards and jumbo tron when LSU was kicking field goals and dim them when Florida was. Definitely a little bit of gamesmanship with it.

For comparison's sake

In fairness, how do you know it was the same amount of fog each time?

I've realized that LSU fans BY FAR have the biggest issue with both the Tiger/Eagle mascot ordeal. It's not even that big of a deal Especially older LSU fans. They think it's the funniest joke when they explain how Auburn doesn't even know what's it's own mascot is!!

Nah this is false. We don’t mind Auburn. We high five them because they beat Alabama and usually give us a good game. Maybe this only applies to older fans who remember the cigar thing.

Bama at work patching all the holes in their once subpar kicking game.

Our kicker didn't miss a FG all last year.

But, it's a dumb new rule.

It shouldn't be distracting. It's a big arse target to aim for.

Not to point out the obvious or anything but kickers look at the ball when kicking not the jumbo Tron.

You must have missed the part where I said older fans. You’re considered old if you went to LSU in the early 2000’s

I was really just fricking around. As just noted the kickers don't look at the uprights when they kick anyways. It doesn't seem like it should be all that distracting.

The closest thing I can relate to that is when batters used to throw the bunt out there to distract me when I was pitching. Never worked because I just aimed for the bat.

Well frick. My first semester was the fall of '93. I had a kid in the fall of 2000.

No denying the mutual respect. But I've lived in Louisiana my entire life. And believe me I've heard the joke hundreds of times. Maybe other fans make the joke too. But there is something about LSU fans and thinking it's hilarious. Probably has to do with both sharing the Tiger mascot as well

It ought to be no holds barred aside from laser pointers in a player’s eyes.

I tend to agree with this, but this rule is more in line with banning artificial crowd noise. Imagine if the stadium sound system started blaring air horn noises at peak volume right as the kicker is winding up to make the kick?

I think the fans should be able to do whatever, but once you start fricking with the stadium lighting, sound system, or in this case a giant arse jumbotron, I think that's where you draw the line.

It shouldn’t be allowed

and any fan base and program that “enjoys” this is bush league.
