If true, that's dumb. That eagle is as SEC as any other mascot in the conference and one of the best traditions too.

It’s not a mascot and is a cheap parlor trick by the stadium to try and distract the kid. The difference between an away basketball game and that is the Jumbotron inside the arena isn’t displaying the video. The aren’t disallowing fans from making a distraction, just saying you can’t use the scoreboard to do so.

Why is it ok for MSU to clang those damn cowbells? It’s horrible and creates a redneck image for the SEC as well as MSU. If anyone tried ringing a cowbell in any other SEC stadium they would be kicked out of the place. Why does the SEC allow this obnoxious noise? Did MSU pay off someone in the SEC office? Makes you wonder

This isn’t controversial at all. No different then them forcing bands or the PA systems to stop playing when a play is about to start.move your scoreboard higher and you can probably keep your eagle.
