Stadium has compiled men’s basketball attendance and ticket sales data from the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, and we’re now breaking it down by conference.
The first chart below shows how many fans SEC schools averaged in each of the last two seasons.
The second chart shows ticket sales data from the 2017-18 season (ticket sales data from the 2018-19 season was unavailable at the time this story was published), including how much money schools made per season, per game and per fan per game. We also included how much revenue schools reported making from concessions, parking, game programs and novelty items during the 2017-18 season.
Note: Data for private schools is unavailable, as well as from schools in states whose public records laws require one to be a resident to make a public records request.

4th. Not bad for a team that's been painfully mediocre or worse for a while.

Maybe they messed up, and put in their women's attendance numbers.

Weird seeing us this low, despite being over 95% capacity. I personally was not a fan of cutting capacity and increasing ticket prices. Hurt the atmosphere as well.

What was it before? Our arena seats 18,000 and was designed to host other events like concerts etc. We can sell it out during the odd time that the team is good and there is a big game but it's rare. Most of the time that 11-12k makes it seem like a cavern that's barely 1/2 full. Our old arena was 12,000 and it was great, intimate, and loud.

My guess would be the difference in how they played in the regular season. The previous year we were at our best during the regular season. This past year we hit our stride during the tournaments.

I’d actually like to know the %s because all arenas aren’t the same
Auburn is bottom of the conference in total
But their arena only holds 9,122
That’s 89% full

If VOLS are winning people show up and that arena is rocking.
If VOLS are struggling and there are 13K in there it feels like a mausoleum.

I'd agree if the purpose was to show how full the stadiums are. 15,250 average for Arkansas is only about 78% full. Lots of empty seats this past year.

Most of these changes make sense
- Tennessee coming off a SEC title with a Final Four contender team back
- LSU coming off an overachieving Year 1 with a huge freshman class coming in
- Mississippi St in a "breakout year" during the rebuild (still surprised at the super low overall #s there)
- Ole Miss having a surprise year, guessing those figures were low early and higher during SEC play
- Vandy with the recruiting class probably expected a big year
On the flip side
- Arkansas folks got frustrated
- Alabama folks got frustrated
- Texas A&M folks got frustrated
- Missouri probably had a huge year in 2018 with the big recruiting class - I'm guessing 2019 was still WAY better than 2015-2017
