I'm drunk and tried to make this post while on the toilet. Was going to make this nice pretty thread with pictures but then accidentally fricked it all up.

He caused Bama to lose while he was OC. I felt like that should count for something.

You should probably go back and check your numbers.

He got an almost win in 2009. That counts.

Op - could you update your post to include each coaches' career record against Alabama?
Thanks.

Lane hasn't beaten Alabama but he's probably the best coach of the 3

Whatever happened to Terrence Cody? Is he retired?

Cody, who was officially released by the Ravens on Monday, turned himself in when a warrant was issued and posted $10,000 bail. An investigation was started after Cody took his dog to a veterinarian for treatment and the dog subsequently died.
Here are the 15 counts facing Cody, according to Deputy State's Attorney John Cox:

Malzahn definitely has the silver bullet when playing Alabama. I'm not sure if he gets super focused when making out a game plan, or if he is a great motivator when it comes to playing Alabama.

I think an argument could be made that Malzahn would be currently unemployed had he not beaten Alabama as much as he has.

Yep.
He saved his job in 2017 and 2019 thanks to that game. Though I think whatever goodwill was bought over the win this past November was almost completely lost by his team's performance in the Outback Bowl. If he has another 8-5 season in 2020 which includes a loss to Alabama, I think he's gone.
