My heart can't take Bama being good and then shitting the bed. I'm going to pretend that we are dogshit and in the bottom 4 of the conference, that way when we land precisely in the middle my expectations will have been exceeded.

Saturday really messed with my hopefulness this season. There were bad omens before the game started, Pio asked if someone else could do the thread, there wasn’t a game thread until the game had already started and it was done by a Mizzou fan and no good or even semi good hog call was done in it. And that’s just the superstitious stuff.

As the game itself unfolded it was blatantly obvious we missed Justin Smith and his size and strength more than I had anticipated and he’s going to be out 3 to 6 weeks. We could not hardly buy a basket in either half even right at the rim.

I think Mizzou has a good team so losing to them wasn’t that big of a deal until you put into context they had been blown out by Tennessee who we play next btw. And then Tennessee gets beat by Bama which means Tenn will be out for blood when we play. KY manages to win which very well may spawn a resurgence in their season. I thought the Aggies sucked and they beat Auburn who we just beat earlier in the week.

Just a bad bad day for my basketball dreams.

We have a weakness inside with Smith out. I hope we can win enough with him gone to still get in the tourney. I expect we will look better than we did Saturday going forward. We were due a bad shooting game.
