Perfect microcosm of our program.
No terrible teams, no great teams, Top 5 overall but with less NCAAT success than basically everyone below us.
Frickin a.

Stop firing coaches after 4 years and give them a chance. Alabama isn't a place for instant success like a normal blue blood -- you're going to have to have a guy build it for years, not just 4.

Literally the worst 7 year stretch in Mizzou history.
Thanks

Anthony Grant just needed year 7 and he would have finally taken off!

Good god the SEC has been shite in basketball. 4 years of Cuonzo and Donnie T, and 2 years of Barnes cleaning that shite up, and we're still 3rd

14 worse teams than this year's Vanderbilt??! How is that possible?

Yeah. Jeff Lebo before him was also bad. Barbee inherited a bad program but her certainly didn't improve it at all.

Thank you, Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones. Your lack of enthusiasm and inability to coach on game day sucked all the life out of the LSU program for a good 5 to 7 years.

I didn’t realize Tennessee made it to the Elite 8 this year.

I think Vandy's score was actually "helped" by the SEC being so strong this year. Losing to good teams doesn't penalize you as much as losing to other bad teams like those other 14 did.

Plus this year's Vandy team beat
#82 USC
#58 Liberty
#57 Arizona State
None of those early 2010s era awful West teams (Auburn, LSU, State) had any wins even close to that.

Only Kentucky, Florida, and Alabama never had a team fall outside the Top 100 in any given season this decade.
However Bama joins only Arkansas, Georgia, and Ole Miss as the only schools not to produce at least one Top 25 team all decade long.
Ole Miss is actually very similar to Alabama in that they never had a Top 25 team this decade, but they only had one team outside the Top 100, which was their 2018 team which was #108... so just barely.

And to show just how far the SEC has come the past few years in basketball. Average rank of all member teams each season:
2010: #72
2011: #96
2012: #78

2019: #56
The three best seasons for the SEC have been the most recent three. Very good to see the SEC improve to this level.
