I know these things will shake themselves out but it's hard to believe we have the 3rd worst SOS after playing dayton and michigan state. Although I haven't looked at anyone else's schedulesl so I'm sure others have played in some tourneys with good teams too.

Georgia's issue is they have 3 games against some of the worst teams in the country.

#307 - Citadel
#324 - North Carolina Central
#352 - Delaware St

With Arizona St, SMU, GaSo and Memphis coming up it should bump up. No reason to every play those bottom 10% teams though. Just blows up your SOS numbers. If those games were substituted for Winthrop, Gardner Webb and North Florida then UGA would end the year with a pretty solid OOC SOS.

Let’s see... 5 freshman, 9 new players total, playing a tough OOC schedule.

Yep, 6-3 sounds about right.

This proves what I’ve been saying so a couple of weeks...SEC Basketball is not good.

That's impossible.

What is wrong with KenPom's metric this year?

aub, uk, ut, ala, msu, lsu, aggy are all worse than last year.

uf, om, usc, mu, vu are about the same so far

only arky and uga have improved and only modestly at that

I don't think the current version Alabama is worse than last year. Last year's Alabama team wouldn't be any better than 4-4 with our schedule through 8 games IMHO. Our KP is dragged down by some wretched performances early on.

bama was a bubble team last season. they don't look to be a bubble team this year.

We were 5-3 after 8 games last year with losses to Northeastern, UCF and Georgia State.

Our two losses are by a total of 4 points both away from home against teams that were top 25 when played. We are getting better. I think LSU has started the year sharper than we did last season and the SEC is definitely weaker than last year. I'm hopeful for a top 3 or 4 finish in league.
