Jason Castleman was in his first year with the Bulldogs but he won’t see the conclusion of the Bulldog season on the diamond because he has reportedly been fired by Georgia allegedly having illegal contact with a child and providing obscene material with the child.
Following this discovery, Castleman was booked in Athens-Clarke County Jail according to Chip Towers of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Castleman is charged with electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor; use of a computer service to seduce, lure or entice a child to commit an illegal act; obscene Internet contact with a child; and solicitation of sodomy. Each charge carries with it a $50,000 surety bond.
Castleman was hired by Georgia in September after spending two seasons working at Central Michigan.

Confusing verbiage. Title says "minor" but several charges say "child" - potentially two very, very different things from a moral perspective. Awful situation all around, and some bad PR for UGA.

Definitely think there's two approaches, and agree that they need to be removed from society.
1. Those that admit they have a problem but do not act on it should be given psychiatric care, and not treated as criminals.
2. Those that act on it, who need to go to prison. Maybe get psychiatric care when they get out (or, if actually engaging in it physically, never being let out).
It's one thing to see a minor and think, "They're hot... oh shite, I shouldn't think that, I need to go see my doctor" and "They're hot... let me try and get nudes of them."

Pretty sure, though I know you're joking, that they only leave this on the law books to tack on for forms of sexual assault.

The statute cited references both "child" and "minor." Those terms cannot sometimes be interchangeable. Typically, to find out how young this child was, you'll find there are varying degrees of charges/penalties based on the age group of the minor victim. Looking up the particular charge referenced, it doesn't elevate to a felony unless the minor was under the age of 14 and the defendant wasn't also a minor, so yeah this is even worse than if the girl/boy was like 17.

There are very few groups of people I would pay to watch the PPV of their executions but pedos I would buy them all.

My wife and I were foster parents for 5 years. It changed my opinion on this and drug addiction. GA was a reunification first state so if a kid stayed with us and begged not to be sent home because mommy separated from dude again or mommy stayed clean 60-90 days we had to watch that child go right back to that situation. I remember one girl that was 13 that mom’s boyfriend took pictures of in her underwear. Mom left dude got the girl back and 6 months later she was back with us because dude was back and had drugged her and videoed what he did. That dude got a whole 2 years in jail. That girl still calls my wife when she has nightmares. The drug addicts are just as bad. We adopted a girl that was born to a girl that was being pumped by her mom for drugs. Folks that say drugs are harmless have never had to figure out a nice way a 5 year old can understand that mommy chose drugs over them.
The kids get to live with and through this stuff forever. Zero sympathy for pedos or addicts. The world would be better without them.

As a recovering addict I agree completely. This disease shite is nonsense. It's a choice and I knew exactly what I was doing every time I bought the shite and used it.
