Do you know what '21 Arkansas, '17 Oregon St, and '13 Vanderbilt have in common? Zero titles. The baseball postseason is wild.
and only one of those teams made it to Omaha, 2017 Oregon State. Baseball is a funny sport

Baseball is a long season sport, and when it's squeezed into single and double elimination style settings (or 3 game series) then a whole lot of luck and situational circumstance takes over.
And what is telling is even in the age of big data in baseball there still isn't a true "best path to short series victory". You just gotta get hot, get confidence and get a little lucky.

Oh we winning it. We just don’t need to win any games to boost the resume to get in nor do we need help from anyone.

Should’ve held up there. Damn.

See according to the official SEC record book it has UT winning it 3 times. It’s pointless this because LSU needs it to bolster there resume while teams like UT done what was needed in the regular season for thsi not to matter. But don’t get it twisted, they still gonna win it.

The problem with college baseball is you design and coach your team to play and win 3 game series all year and then when it actually counts, you're playing in double elimination tournament formats that have to be coached completely differently. There's really no other way to do it with a 64 team field, but it's always going to provide for a lot more variance in a sport like baseball.

Damn Auburn playing some defense! The key was cutting it off and not letting it get to the wall. I think it had some backspin on it though and landed softly.
I thought with the hit and run on he would score.

We dodged a huge bullet after giving up a double to start the inning.

Tennessee won the tournament when there were two separate tournaments, one for the East teams and one for the West teams. The SEC did that from 1993-1995. Tennessee has never won the SECT, they've won the SEC East Tournament three times.

Yep - and major league baseball isn't all the dissimilar. You build a roster to grind out a 162 game season and then all of a sudden you are starting 2.5 SP in a 7 game series.
You can't sacrifice your regular season roster for a postseason one, but sometimes you just luck into it.
Elimination baseball in the playoffs/tournament is the GOAT if you aren't involved. It's a damn emotional trainwreck if you are

I didn’t need to actually see the pitches to know that was an incredible outing by Harney though
