Some key games today. Missouri/Vandy rubber match. Ole Miss attempting to avoid the sweep at home to State. Tennessee needing to win series against Florida.

TOP 8 Seeds
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Miss State
Georgia

Host Contenders
Missouri- Funny I list them right? Pulling out a win today against Vandy puts the Tigers a quiet 14-12-1 in league play and 35-17-1 overall. With a win today Missouri would hold series wins over Vandy, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and a split with aTm.

Ole Miss- Getting swept today likely puts the Rebels on the outside looking in. RPI in the 20+ range.

LSU- Auburn series next weekend is huge. Tigers need to likely win series and win a few games in Hoover. RPI is pretty high for a host spot and record at 31-21 isn't the most beautiful.

Top 8 National Seeds
1. UCLA
2. Vanderbilt
3. Arkansas
4. East Carolina
5. Miss State
6. Louisville
7. Texas Tech
8. Georgia

Hosts Seeds 9-16
9. Stanford
10. UC Santa Barbara
11. Georgia Tech
12. Miami
13. Baylor
14. Missouri
15. Oklahoma State
16. LSU

* Hosts 11-16 are really a jumbled mess. No clear cut teams stronger than others. My thought is the SEC will have 5 host spots. With 4 possible Top 8 seeds, that likely only leaves 1 host spot up for grabs, even though I have two listed.

Oregon State who has been in the host conversation most of the season took a hit last week getting swept at home by Oklahoma State. They wrapped up the series with Oregon this weekend and look for a sweep today. Big series against Stanford coming up.

I assume in national seed ranking #8 should be UGA- not GaTech. That’s a big miss!

Otherwise, almost boring how the SEC runs every sport

Tech will host but, yes, left us out of national seeding in the rankings

Ole Miss probably needs 18 conference wins to lock up a host. 18 wins in our conference is a big deal. gonna be hard to get there. win today and 2 of 3 in knoxville

Unless we get our pitchers back for this next series and they are healthy, I doubt LSU hosts at all. More like a 2-3.

GA Tech is 7th in RPI so they're in the discussion for a top 8. GA was just left out by the OP. Sorry check back next year

Read Aaron fit’s article this morning. He believes State is still in the hunt for the number 1 overall national seed. Hard to believe. I don’t think anyone in our fanbase saw this season coming under a new head coach. Extremely proud of our guys especially the pitch staff and the step they have taken. Now can we get this party started? I miss Omaha

Our entire fan base not located on the rant expected to be back in Omaha. We returned a boatload of talent, our best starter, and brought in a first round draft pick at pitcher.

I think as long as we win the series against auburn and win 1 in Hoover we should host. Not getting swept yesterday helped a lot. If we don’t host and we get our pitchers back we will be the most dangerous 2 in the country

Was operating under the assumption that ole miss will also post. I think we are better than Tennnessee especially when healthy

Ok I wasn’t paying attention to the MSST/Ole Miss series result. They probably won’t host. If we are healthy I think we are better considering we took 2/3 from y’all on the road when we were only slightly more healthy than we are now

I understand I think y’all are better no doubt. Just stating there are going to be a lot of scary number 2s even out of conference

If Oregon state can’t pull it back and they are a #2 that’s terrifying

That team has so much talent. That sophomore pitcher that won them the world series last year is top notch.

UCLA, Vandy would have to completely crap the bed IMO. Then at that point it would be between Arkansas and State. Arkansas swept State.

Unless State wins the SEC tourney and doesn’t lose another regular season game, I see no route for State to be the #1 overall seed.
