Big test for Ole Miss this week.

Midweek against #15 Southern Miss at home. Weekend series with Arkansas. Need to go 3-1 if possible.

ETA:
USM will probably throw their ace on Tuesday because they need the rpi win.

UGA may sneak into the top 25.

Ray Tanner's legacy is becoming more tarnished by the day.

What does he have to say publicly about the state of the baseball program? I’m sure he gets grilled about it.

It took him 5 years to fire his buddy Chad Holbrook.

I don't think he gives a shite.

I'm just glad Tanner wasn't AD when the last basketball coach was fired, because he never would have hired Frank Martin.

So, team sweeps other team, other team ranked higher. And don't give me that home field advantage shite, there were 19 people in attendance.

What does our RPI have to be to get to whatever the college baseball postseason is called? Sectional or Super duper regional or some such shite?

I'm not sure what Tanner says publicly but I can tell you what an insider has said. John Whittle over at 247 covers our club as closely as most 247 guys follow their respective football teams. I'm talking from the travel ball team a lot of our guys come from, through HS and into the program. He was asked about our roster a couple of weeks ago and he said that it has been made clear to the players that the roster is not where the staff wants it and thus he expects up to 9 position players and 5 pitchers to no longer be a part of the team after the season. If I'm not mistaken that is roughly half of the scholarship limit for the team that will essentially be shown the door.

I thought baseball only had like 14 schollies to give or something crazy like that because of title motherfricking IX.

You can give up to 11.7 Full scholarships, but you can divide those out between players by giving them partial scholarships. I believe the # of total players that can be on some sort of scholarship is like 25 or so.

You guys could do that too, you don’t want a loss against USM on your record, look what happened to Mississippi St after they lost to them.

Gonna take a while for Bohannon to build the program. Goff was such a disaster.

No way UT could draw double digits for a home baseball game...unless it was opposing fans.

Adding to that, many states that have a lottery have a built in advantage to baseball recruiting due to additional state sponsored scholarships that can be given to in-state kids, while that 11.7 can be used for those that do not qualify.

Bianco was SEC This Morning with Peter Burns and talked about scholarships in college baseball here.
