Too many stats to list here but some really stand-out.

Cannot say I ever thought I'd see Mississippi State struggling like they are ... and I hope they don't pick this upcoming weekend to recover.

A lot of telling stats for all programs in this week's numbers:

Bash Ball and Slugging % for SC, UF and LSU are incredible.

Walks are baffling ... you'll see why.

The old adage about HRs and SOs going hand-in-hand certainly applies ... except in UF's case apparently. That's a good sign for UF.

Dayum ... Kentucky is playing a bunch of small ball. Really small ball, and it seems to be working so far.

Mingione was saying this is the first time since he's been at Kentucky that he's had a crew he's been able to play "his style" with. He's all about a high on-base percentage and really aggressive base running. And every single guy in the order can (and will) bunt if needed.

If nothing else it's a lot of fun to watch.

We've packed it in for the season, we won't win a single series this year. The only possibility is the Ole Miss series at home.

I keep feeling like we are walking too many batters, which we are, but then the rest of the conference keeps saying hold my beer.

Well, no shite.

Thankfully, wins, #1 RPI's, #4 SOS, and nations best Q1 win % don't separate teams into "small-ball" and "gorilla-ball".

Jesus Christ State has walked almost twice as many batters as we have. What in the hell is going on in Starkville?

We are amazing at drawing walks. Combined with our home run hitting it may be a slaughter in Starkville this week if they don’t get their shite together

An argument could be made that the walks are what's killing MSU this season, thus far.

Control problems can spread through a staff like the plague for some reason. When it happens it's usually more mental than mechanical. Lack of confidence, fear of serving-up easy offerings ... and it's tough to overcome.

Miss State playing poorly has been a blessing for me. To get where I want to go career wise I am going to have to go back down to the lower 48 for a few years. I have not even applied for any positions yet, but because I have had so much unexpected free time on the weekends I already have about half my belongings packed.

I'd bet a significant percentage of those walks have come in the last 2 weeks. Im sure everyone is, but we seem to be struggling to adjust the tighter zone.

Y’all either walk or strikeout. I could tell skenes wasn’t used to baserunners.. but naturally everyone pitches better from windup. He was fun to watch. Sweep the Vols! Go hogs

Sure, but it also has to do with facing better hitters and not taking as many chances pitching to contact. Better hitters are also less likely to chase pitches out of the zone. But yes, 14 of LSU's 81 total BBs came against Arkansas alone.
