“….because it’s illegal.”

I really hope they have a vision and execute it because this is crazy.

Good for you Florida. The shite that went down last night was so A&M in promising high school players shite.

In the end it will work out for the guys that that used NIL for players on the current roster the right way. Miami is about to be investigated and they will burn and that will be the beginning of the end for these over zealous loaded boosters who thought they could just buy a team. Miami, like A&M, will learn that unless they promise shite beforehand, they wont be getting those players.

I saw him after church on Sunday at deli in Madison this weekend. He looked malnourished and feeble. The pressure cooker that is Gainesville has certainly gotten to him. I was gonna say something, but an overwhelming sense of pity and disdain swept over me.

3 four star commits in a week. Two D lineman and a cornerback today. Just because Miami has a moron willing to pay a 17 year old $9 million, and UF will not, doesn't mean we're doomed.

Every big time program is recruiting using NIL. If your program has landed a 4 or 5 star in the class of 2023, they got paid.

Not to mention the kid is from Northern California & had ties with Mario from his Oregon days. Sucks to lose the kid to Miami but it’s really not the end of the world

LSU is right there with Florida, getting our arse kicked in NIL. Personally i think both schools either adapt or we become ok with being 3rd in the division and honestly when ut comes and if auburn and arky decide to play ball....we will be down there with OU finishing 5th or 6th.

so one thing with Miami is, they are being led, in regards to NIL, by a lawyer and he has had his law firm documenting everything. Hours worked, services rendered, contracts for those services etc etc so they may be ok in the long run. I dunno what A&M is doing as far as that is concerned, but dont be surprised if UM has all of thier T's crossed and I's dotted.

shite sucks to be honest. and honestly in the long run, i dunno if bama will be able to compete if the big big billionaire boosters decide to get involved with their schools.

In the long term he will be on the right side of regulation, but I can understand your consternation right now.

I invite everyone to go read NCAA v Alston. The only thing that is "illegal" is for the NCAA, in any way, to attempt to limit how a player is compensated. The NCAA can have a 'rule' that NIL can't be a recruiting inducement, but if they try to enforce that rule, a unanimous SCOTUS has made it very clear that the NCAA will lose in court. Rules like that will never be enforced because they can't legally be enforced.

Maybe Kiffin will keep us relevant as the transfer portal pirates, but college football is probably dead

So you believe that the ncaa, which is simply an association of all the member institutions, which includes Texas, can't regulate its organization?

The NFL can regulate, MLB can regulate, NBA can regulate. Businesses are certainly regulated. But you think that an organization as large and prominent as the NCAA can't regulate.

That aside, answer me this: Do you not understand the reason that the vast majority of coaches and administrators across the nation support NIL regulation? Do you not understand that, if the very few programs with the most number of wealthy boosters are allowed to buy the most elite players, year after year, that it will kill the sport? It's why the NFL has a draft and a salary cap.
