Maybe, maybe not.

But, unlike the guy who received it, Schloss was able to:

[x] Make it to Omaha

[x] Win at least one game in Omaha

[x] Eliminate Notre Dame

Even if Schloss isn't the COTY, his resume indicates that he's much more deserving than cry baby viteLLo

Heck, in one afternoon, he's won more games in Omaha than viteLLo has EVER won with the basevoLs

SAD!

Schloss has an argument. That is for sure.

Has an argument? He’s the COTY. What he did with Aggie in his first year is incredible. All this year shows is you don’t give out awards until the season is over. How can the COTY in all of college baseball not make it to Omaha?

I just can’t believe they gave an award to a guy that physically attacked an umpire

I don’t understand how the coach that failed to bring the most talented team to the CWS wins coach of the year. It should be the coast who took the least talented team the furthest.

To me, Schloss has done the most with the least in the past year. From overhauling the roster with transfers and comparing how poorly our season started with how strongly we are finishing. We have consistently improved in almost every category and find ways to win games against what I would call more talented teams.

Oh well. Congrats to Vitello. I’m sure he would trade that award to still be playing.

My vote would be for Schlossnagle. Remarkable job choosing the right transfers to fit his system and build team chemistry, and a remarkable coaching job. A REALLY close second is Bianco. That team was a trainwreck just a couple of months ago, and completely turned it around, and could win it all.

My second choice would be Auburn coach Butch Thompson. He should be getting more praise. They were the only team predicted to finish worse than us in the SEC West.

Agreed on Bianco as well...simply remarkable from where they were. The man just saved his job imo...much to the chagrin of an Old Miss friend. He absolutely hates him. Lol

I concur.

But what Schloss has accomplished in Year 1 is phenomenal, even if they don't win another game.

Just hope it's not a Terry Bowden/Gustav scenario, where his first season is the high point of his career.

Its Schloss's 6th trip to Omaha and his 4th or 5th semi-final appearance. He wants to do this at A&M for a long time (7 year contract and has talked of another 10-13 years before retiredment)

Honestly Schloss, Bianco, and Thompson all have arguments from the SEC. Skip from OU has an argument as well. Schloss and Thompson were projected to finish close to last in the conference

Definitely. Even though the road ended today, it was a tremendous coaching job on his part.

If I were an Aggy fan, I'd be very pleased with the outcome of this season.

He's done a heck of a job too. All the coaches who got to the Final 4 deserve much kudos.
