The talking heads would be losing their minds even thinking about Alabama being in the CFP. The "SEC is down" narrative would be getting nailed to the wall for everyone to see.

And now imagine if they dropped another game on top of that.

OSU getting left out is no different.

Good thing that scenario will never happen.

Very good point. Alabama being in shouldn't be complained about. People should relax and realize that Alabama probably isn't going to beat Clemson this time either. Clemson would stomp Ohio State, at least this game might be better (I don't know if it is, but it has a CHANCE to be).

Now imagine LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State, TAMU, Auburn or Arkansas not winning the SEC or division and being 11-1. tOSU would be in the playoffs and that's a guarantee.

Yeah, well, here's the big difference:

It would never happen to Alabam.

By the way...nice bit of plagiarism off the OSU fan from Ohio who called in to the show on Sirius radio about an hour ago.

My only issue was 2 SEC teams being in, and the so called excluding 70 million TV sets in the midwest. With that, frick the B1G! I hope it is UGA and Bama in the Championship game! The world will melt.

Yep, people are conditioned to Ohio State squeaking by so they think it's ok. People are conditioned to Bama dominating so they hold us to a higher standard.

Good to see the committee didn't buy the bullshite.

You may be right but that doesn't justify it.

Unfortunately name brands do matter and Ohio State has a powerful name brand. As it happened, Bama has a namebrand and it was enough to cancel out OSU's so they could evaluate fairly.

If the shoe was on the other foot I would 100% say the 11-1 SEC team should be in, but I don't have confidence the committee would do the right hting.

Guy from Ohio called in and made exactly the same point an hour before you did, word for word, and even specifically mentioned Kentucky.

Coincidence? I think not.

Not even close. LSU winning the title that season proved it. But at least we get to watch Bama lose another playoff. This is better than watching them win a bowl game vs an outmatched opponent.

You understand this came from something Saban said right?

He said yesterday "if we lost by 31 to a conference opponent you wouldn't even be talking to me right now"

Because that dude is literally the only person who thought had that talking point, I'm sure. It's not like Saban said the exact same thing yesterday or anything.

Tell him to sue for damages.

Great minds think alike I guess? Why wouldn't I use my own team as an example?

Yea I have no problem with this. For my money, OSU saw their shot at a natty evaporate that day as Iowa coasted up and down the field on them. If something has to disqualify you, that’s as good as it gets.
