This teams pitching is just ridiculously good. Pen with a strong close after an excellent start from Schmidt. Gamecocks win 4-3.

Great outing from starter Schmidt: 6.1 IP, 4 hits, 3 runs - all un-earned - 1 BB, 11 Ks.

His defense behind him let him down a little tonight, with 2 errors that led to Wright State's scores, but we pulled the win out with solid bull pen pitching: total of 16 Ks with only the lone walk....

The league is so stacked at pitching. Even the bad teams has legit Friday night aces.

Thompson is great. Mitt doesn't move much when he throws. Our Saturday guy is pretty good and has a shot to be great too. After that...

Bring on Pepperdine's 11.25 ERA pitcher. I know, only one game. But I want runs and a lot of them, dammit!

Agreed. We need to work on all these unearned runs. Through four weekend games the gamecock bullpen era is 0.25

Dawgs are looking for a series win today @ Ga Southern. While we're 2-3, you can see flashes that this team could be really solid as the freshmen settle in and if the pitching can find consistency. Kevin Smith had a solid outing yesterday for us but we'll see how the freshman Tony Locey does today after a rough first start last weekend

I kind of wish Georgia would get good again. Makes it more fun with great teams. MGBGA

The Vandy, LSU and South Carolina series are pretty intense.

Auburn with another shutout. Mize struck out 12 in 5 innings and lipscomb struck out 5 or 6 in relief I think.
Auburn has thrown a shutout Friday and Saturday of both weekends so far

Rebs closer Stokes gave up a 3 run bomb in the top of 8th to give up the lead. It was 4-3 and we turned around in the bottom of 8th and scored 5 runs to make it 8-4 final. Had a freshman Seamster pinch hit his first HR on the year to take the lead for us in that rally.

Rebs starter McArthur had a no no into the 6th and ended the game with 11 Ks.

Might want to start keeping up with the LSU if not already. Poche is having a game.

yep, pretty good start to the season for him

Other than that, pretty boring game. LSU up 12-0, most of the starters have been replaced
