And he has done a hell of a job resurrecting Arkansas. Good job finding him, Hogs.

Having someone that loves the program is refreshing. It's kinda what y'all tried to do with Luke. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

You guys look crazy good, this weekend will be fun and next weekend maybe even more lit.

He’s a good man who parents will trust with their children. His players will follow him to hell and back. It’s unlikely he brings Arky to national contender status but he will instill a culture there that last longer than him and will be an Arky legend I imagine.

Nah, Luke should have been fired years before he even got the HC job. Freeze was stuck with him because of his legacy. Had we had a decent OL in 2014 or 2015, we would have gone undefeated.

Luke was given the HC job because Bjork had one foot out the door and went to a direct competitor.

I mean, Luke made Corral ride the bench for a year.

And the Arkansas fans here were not pumped when they hired him and it was kind of joke. Sam Pittman just went about his business drag his nuts all over the place since. Good for him. It’s hard for me to pull for Arkansas but I’ll like him for a bit but if he keeps winning I’ll find the hate for him

That’s not true. Fans always want splash hires so some were disappointed but our fan base loved Sam.

Our AD is a stud and has nailed his hires.

Wish we still played Arkansas every year... was a fun series and we joined the league together. Screw the SEC for forcing this dumb A&M yearly game (and I don't give a damn that we lose it every year, we'd lose to Arkansas too).

I want Arkansas back.

I could definitely see him getting that program to a consistent 9-10 win season level

Him landing Tunsil saved his arse.

He caved to fricking Shea Patterson, DK and AJ Brown threatening to transfer if he wasn't hired. I'm still pissed about that

Hogs are ranked 8th in his 2nd year after he inherited a shite show. I’d say if he hasn’t brought Arkansas to contender status then he’s well on his way.

What I posted after the hire:

First and foremost, for Pittman, the Arkansas HC job is not a liferaft, it's not a "first big school opportunity" for an up and coming head coach, it's not primarily about getting a huge pay day leveraged by a manipulative agent. He's 58 years old. It will be at minimum two or three years for him to get Arkansas back to winning football. Due to his age and how much he loves the area (he was our OL coach from 2013-2015; he's from Oklahoma), it's almost certain this is his last stop in his coaching career. This is the pinnacle for what has already been an incredible career.

Pittman has been one of the most highly regarded offensive line coaches and recruiters in the southeast for the last 10+ years. His linemen and the offenses that benefited from his linemen speak for itself by the numbers. "His first two offensive lines at Arkansas led the SEC in sacks allowed per game and his offensive line in 2014 paved the way for two 1,000-yard rushers in Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins. In Pittman’s final year in Fayetteville his offensive line contributed to an offense that finished second in the SEC in total offense (456.8 ypg), second in scoring (40.2 ppg), third in passing offense (264.2 ypg)." ( LINK). That 2015 Arkansas offense was #1 nationally for offense efficiency. No matter what offense you run, it can't be effective without a good offensive line.

In addition to the numbers, the testimony from his players about how much they love playing for Pittman speaks volumes.

Pittman knows the SEC and he's an elite recruiter. As far as I can tell, he brings no baggage and is a stand up guy. I expect he will have no problem hiring quality assistants who also know the SEC. It doesn't hurt that this move also weakens a SEC foe. Won't lie, taking back this coach from Georgia feels suhweet.

Interesting tidbit: he actually played DE for Pittsburgh St (Kansas) and was a NAIA All-American.

All joking aside the fact that both teams are ranked at all coming out of historic lows is nuts

I was pretty sure Kiffin could do it for you all. I have been pleasantly surprised with Pittman's success considering he's been a life-long assistant coach. I hope they both keep it up.

You’re ranked 8th in week 4 and still have to play UGA UA a currently undefeated OM an LSU team that is at the least much more talented and other teams that hover at or around your talent level. That’s not a national contender sorry.

UGA still has to play Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, and the SECCG. Sorry, but history has repeatedly shown Georgia is not a contender. Win all those games and then we can talk about UGA being a contender.

UGA has won conference championships recently. Won NY6 bowl games. Appeared in a national championship. If that doesn’t meet your criteria for contender I find it amusing you object to someone saying Pittman won’t bring Arkansas to being one.
