So A&M and Texass are higher than Arkansas?

Those rankings are stupid as shite.

Worst team in west is 4th best in the East, would be higher if they played in the East, lol.

UGA and Florida, a life of luxury in the lEast for decades now. OMG Vandy, Missou AND Kentucky in the same year? Not FAIR.

…is truthfully how it should read. And we ALL know it. And before you start on LSU to deflect, yes I know all of those teams may very well be better than us this year.

I’m not going to deflect on LSU at all.. I have said it for a couple of weeks now.. the Texas rating doesn’t mean much now.. We will know a lot more in the next 3 weeks.

@ TCU
Oklahoma
vs Oklahoma State

If we are 6-1 after those games, then we deserve to be ranked.

Lol Texas sucks.

Oh wow the mighty TCU team that lost to SMU

Luckily for them they only have to play one decent school the rest of the year.

Texas is the 2nd worst team we will play this year

See my note at the bottom of the OP and the RECENT rankings post a few up from here. That is a better ranking early in the season as the main rating still has some 2020 data in it.

Definitely. Thankfully we don’t have to play Rice or Georgia Southern.

Exactly.

Rice was harder for Arkansas than Texas.

We could have hung 50 on your soft team but Pittman isn’t that kind of guy

You mean the team that Texas beat 58-0? Yeah they were a tough bunch.

I know this is math and all but how in the frick is Clemson still in the top 10?

I'm sure it's because the formula uses data from past seasons and just 4 games into the season that is weighing more heavily.

There's also a very good reason for using that data if you're trying to "predict" how teams will do going forward instead of just ranking them on where they "deserve" to be at the time based on performance over their first 4 games.

To over simplify a bit, I would guess that there is a lot of empirical evidence for 2-2 teams that have finished in the top 5 the past few years winning more of their remaining games than most 4-0 teams that have come out of nowhere.

Home field advantage AUBURN should be near the top, if not tops.

Rankings are always too high or too low. I don't think Clemson is a #25 team but they're definitely not a #10 team either.

There are quite a few teams in the AP between 10 and 25 who Clemson would beat with no issues.
