“I’m just a football coach,” Saban said. “I don’t keep up with all that stuff as much as maybe everybody else does, especially during the season, especially when we’re playing games.
“To me, some of the things that we do in our country when I grew up, they were unifying events, and it’s a little painful to see that those things are not so right now,” Saban continued. “I also respect everyone’s rights not to be censored in terms of the way they express their beliefs. I’m just a coach. I don’t have the answers to all the questions.
“I know that most good things come out of love and respect and compassion and unifying people. Most bad things come out of hate and dislike and deceit. Hopefully we can focus on the above and not the below.”
“People respect and trust the principles and values of the organization, but they also respect and trust each other, and I think that because everybody has bought into the same thing, you have the same goal,” Saban said. “You have the same spirit in terms of what you’re trying to accomplish and what you’re trying to do. I think it’s a very unifying factor when everybody respects — and because you respect the people, you respect the individual differences as well.”

Saban for president? At least it'd get him out of Tuscaloosa...

Would spend all our money on defense

Coach Saban is a Liberal Democrat.

He has opened the door to the end of College Football, it will follow the NFL

If I had to guess, he's probably more in the middle, moderate/libertarian. I don't see him being hardcore on either spectrum.

The only issue he would have with it would be distraction from doing their jobs is my guess. Make them do whatever they wanted to do unanimously as a team or not at all.
I can damn sure guarantee you he wouldn't give a frick about people in the stands getting mad about it if his players were all for it.

WEll you make my point, it won't happen that way and when it does happen ncaa football will follow the nfl in the patrons response, at least this patrons response

Bama players aren't even out on the field during the national anthem home or away, so it's a moot point.

It would be a lot easier to hate Saban if I didn't respect the hell out of him.

Absolutely, has been for the last year with the nfl. When you have a cancer, you have to get rid of it, poison, cutting or genetics.
We are about to find out how deep this cancer goes, it will have to go, all of it

Well if he speaks like that on subjects then I can get behind liberals again. I saw no blame pointed nor trying to guilt anyone in his comments. At least, he didn't try to speak unity then abruptly shite on anyone right after, that's better than most these days.

For everybody who was confused about what Saban was talking about, I just wrapped up his rambling thoughts in less than 20 words.
